This is a very 'early' Carlos Ezquerra sketch....( about 15 - 20 years old I think ).......
It's an Apocalypse War Cover 'planning' sketch by Carlos......Unfortunately it didn't make the selection, but still a great piece of early Carlos.....
Enjoy....

Nice to see that Apoc War prelim, Bob. Good stuff! (not for sale, is it?  ;))

And i seems to recall somebody else on here saying they had one of these, but cant recall who it was.
Anyway, im lucky enough to own two Apoc War Titan book cover prelims by King Carlos. Roughly dating from '84ish, i think
.

His roughs have got even better!

I remember doing a bit of research on Frazetta for my blog and was absolutely stunned by the number of blatant swipes of his work that appeared in the Horned God. It's still an amazing body of work but it tarnished it a bit for me...

Wil you expand on this? I looked at the links but didn't see what you meant if it was there. Ta.

Do you mean this

News / Dredd in the News
29 July, 2013, 01:56:13 PM
I am not sure if we have a thread for when Dredd hits the mainstream news - but here is a reference from the BBC today:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-23455774

'The vision even spread to comics. Chief Judge Cal in Judge Dredd was based on Hurt's version of the emperor - and appropriately enough Cal really did make his pet goldfish Deputy Chief Judge.'

Anyone looking for a Bisley commission? He is only doing headshots, and they are $200 but if you have such a desire let me know and I'll pass on the details.

Books & Comics / Re: Whats everyone reading?
29 July, 2013, 12:33:14 AM
I just finished reading the whole of Grant Morrison's run on Doom Patrol - it was one of the best comics I have read, it dipped in places but was generally amazing. It is hard to believe the same guy wrote so much guff for 2000ad.

Here we see the Maestro Massimo Belardinelli using his paintbrush to conduct a band of characters he touched with his brilliance as others dance in the moonlight to the crazy tunes!

This is my tribute to Massimo, long may he be remembered.

Many thanks to Pete Wells for stitching this together on computer for me and adding the wonderful 2000ad logo.
