General / Re: definitive slaine artist

It is a difficult question because we naturally judge the artist based on the story as much as their depiction of Slaine. For example, McMahon is amazing but I cannot imagine a story like the Horned God drawn by him. Bisley drives the arrogant and sexual side of Slaine which Fabry helped define which perfectly suits that story. Pat Mills is brilliant at picking artists for stories, and at incorporating their ideas into the plots that he has, I think that up and including the Horned God every Slaine artist was perfectly suited to the story.

I love Pugh's art on the series and he was indeed a lot faster than Fabry.

Just thought I'd post my ( now ) framed Mongrol pieces............Just got them back from 'framers' today, so they'll be going up on the wall ASAP.... :D
I've had both pieces put together in the same frame for a compare / contrast 'sort of thing'....

Please excuse 'bendy' looking top of frame...it's not .........I'm just a crap photographer !!...
Cheers...

A gorgeous couple of pieces there!

If art is done in markers it will fade whether you have it in light or not :-(

I got my one along with the original art. It was the copy Mick Austin used. It is lovely to see both together.

General / Original 2000ad Scripts Thread

Well, we have the original art thread, but not yet an original scripts thread!

For all you 2000ad fans who like to see the creative process here is the original script from Leviathan's Farewell - one of my favourite Anderson stories and one for which I own all the original art. This was written by that writer of 2000ad classics Alan Grant.  :P

Does anyone else have any old scripts?

From memory it has the intros but not the covers. It's a great volume. The complete apocalypse war, judge Cal, cursed earth (not complete obviously) and Oz are also great.

I loved this series. I thought it was one of the guiding lights when the comic was lost in the dark too. I woudl have loved to see it continue, it's a shame it had to stop :-(
