managed to get my digital drawing pretty close to my brush work with this 'warm up' picture.

QuoteWillem Dafoe ...The Bird's Eye Bear's voice is great.

that comment has just changed the dynamic of my whole day, don't know why, it just has.

saturdays film viewing

skyfall
enjoyable but still meh-worthy at times , got silly towards the end, with the old man (kincade?) and everything. sympathised alot with silva
when he showed the effects of hydrogen cyanide on his face
never quite as engaged as i was whilst watching casino royale or quantum of solace

hobbit:unexpected journey

really definitely enjoyable on par with LOTR trilogy besides age rating. really good. laughed alot at the british humour.(may have just been the accents though) seeing gollum again was terrific as expected.

tintin: secret of the unicorn

also enjoyed this one, humour and action although maybe too much action at times.best bit was the drooling/gurgling/giggling of captain haddock when he sees something with more than 1% alcohol in it .
still beats skyfall.

produce work everyday and alter the levels of digital/trad to what is suitable for the individual project specs.

you'll find out what gets work done effiiciently.

a con to digital is also that when you set up your tablet and program, the style of art produced can be unintentionally different, this is usually due to the brush settings, shape dynamics etc, spend time experimenting and get a balance in your work.

producing images is producing images.adhering to the sweatshop techniques of the thirties and forties because of some sort of nostalgia is strange to say the least.

norman rockwell was critisied by his contemporaries for photgraphing what he needed for a piece and using them as reference.as i unserstand, it was pretty new at the time.

he did pretty well for himself.

in issue 14 of clint, theres a masive interiew with mavel top editors and joe quesada (artist by trade) tackles this debate head on.however i can't find the issue but the norman rockwell bit was in there!

impressive loan!

i'm dangerously unreliable with library books so i have a period of frequenting, run a debt then i dissapear for months.

they have a good selection which is regularily updated however they are all jammed into one of those swivelly things, which hurts the neck.

located in the teen section and right behind two computers which are reserved for 'IT buddies' who get the shit scared out of them when after struggling to send an email find 6'3 of teenager less than three foot away holding his neck.
