Nah, I'm a Man Utd fan and I'm fuckin celebrating. 

I just finished Marvel Zombies 2, which i must say was grest fun - almost as good as Part 1. Just right now reading Billy The Kid's Old Timey Oddities And The Ghastly Fiends of London. A massive fan of Powell so looking forward to seeing how this pans out. Oh and last night i finished Judge Dredd Vol 1 (the IDW one) and contrary to a lot of my fellow readers on here, i must say i enjoyed it quite a bit. Sure there are minor little quirks such as the overuse of "Joe" where Dredd would have sufficed, but i feel the series is an admirable endeavour to get the U.S readership to know more about Dredd. For newbies it could work as a great introduction to the world of Judge Dredd before moving onto the more 'harder' (not to mention cooler) stuff over here!

What i really loved from ML, since i was young and got the few issues i was able to buy, it's the critic and satire about the american foreign policy. Vietnam, South America... and the vets who came back and now they're mad, or ill...

And, of course the lots and lots of lapidary phrases: i hunt heroes, i've yet have to find one, or the high amount of stuff painted on cars, on uniforms, walls... preciselly at the zombie story. In the last vignette: on the monolith, someone wrote "Marshal Law is a..", and then ML added Live unlike you, a**hole.

And the lots and lots of cameos or "homages-critics"... too many to post them on a single post, but... Thor, Silver Surfer, Human torch, the JSA, Batman, Plastic Man, Mr. Fantastic... i dunno if i would lend this tome to a "serious" pijama-comic lover... 

I wouldn't lend my copy to anyone, thank you very much!

I'm near the end now. (I usually read through these things quicker but seem to be pacing myself better.)

I'm on the Zombie story now. Its quite amusing in places but a bit too silly in places. [spoiler]His well endowed girlfriend is buried in a cloak and nothing else. Cue, an excuse to draw lots of gratuitous white (later green) boobies. Yeah right.[/spoiler]

The first is by far the best, I'd say with the next couple still pretty good. The last? Not very good at all.

I didn't enjoy the Zombie stories as much as the preceding ones the same as you, however i thought the very last story was great fun! So i've finished my reading and overall i've been very impressed indeed. I should have a review ready in a day or two so i'll forward my thoughts then.

No modify option today (God, that's a contrary little feature, innit?), but I was going to add re: Zombo that I really appreciated that when Ghost Pres counted down to the thumb war each digit had the respective number of exclamation marks after it. Go on, have a look!

Lol. I did check and you're right! As for that thread cock-up Jimbo, can't we get Richmond to wave his magic wand and get it in the right thread? Or leave it be if you're fine about it! 

The Year One collected tpb will have nothing to do with the ongoing IDW tpb's.

I had a question guys, i'm hoping you can enlighten me; i just received Vol. 1 of Judge Dredd (IDW), like CF mentioned on these parts it includes #1-4, so will the next volume (Vol. 2) collect the new stuff i.e Year One as well as ' The Long Fail' or will Year One be in a seperate volume? Cheers.

Great stuff Bat King. I also read your interview with Ed Dehn, again some insightful stuff. And you're right - Ed owns the part of Minty. I would love to see him back for sequel.......or even in comic format! Please 2000AD/ Meg, make it happen!
