Classifieds / Re: Wanted: Richard Corben art books

I don't have that, but apparently most of the stuff in there is also reprinted in Creepy Presents Richard Corben (which I highly recommend to all Corben/ Horror enthusiasts!).

Anyhow, thanks Skullmo! :-)

That's a pretty damn good selection there!

Manchester Central library has been in a temporary building for the last couple of years while they have a massive refurbishment, which was fine - I'm pissed off because they've now closed this, but the main library isn't ready to reopen so they've moved to one room in the town hall and 90% of the GNs must be in storage, so the selection is crap at the moment. Bah!

Ah man, that's really sad to hear Dan. Hope the refurbishment doesn't last too long. I honestly believe the library is the lifeblood of the community. Books are really important for children and adults alike, and I've always treasured them since a young age, and my love of libraries has never abated also. It saddens me when I have to see one close, and I've seen many take that route due to goverment cutbacks or whatnot.

By the way, I also saw a copy of Dan Dare on my visit! I might pick it up on my next round!

@ Tordelback, I might check if my library has a copy of those two, I was ready to buy Carnet De Voyage from the Top Shelf clearout, but the shipping costs almost gave me a heart attack!

It's a beautiful book, I also recommend Habibi if you haven't read it yet.

Habibi is the dog's proverbials.

Indeed!

I'm intrigued as to what Craig Thompson is cooking up right now. I've a feeling he's on a quest to conjure up another masterpiece. I'm going to seek out his earlier works, Goodbye Chunky Rice, and the pre-Habibi book, Carnet de Voyage, in the meantime.

Blankets is one hell of a book I agree, shaolin_monkey. Poignant, funny, breath-taking, heart-breaking, it's a really honest look into Thompson's upbringing. Questions of religion vs art, the conflicts of faith vs love/ lust etc. I love the way he potrayed the story (although a work of 'fiction' according to Thompson) I believe it is still a personal story, wherein the writer lays his soul bare. I could also relate to some of his childhood upbringing, especially in the case of over zealous parents and so on.

It's a beautiful book, I also recommend Habibi if you haven't read it yet.

Oh my drokking god! I walked into another library which is not far from where I live and was beset with this dazzling sight;

So many 2000ad titles! I grabbed Case Files 7, D.R & Quinch, Creepy Presents Bernie Wrightson and Fables Vol 1 (they have about 8 volumes there). There was also Pat Mills' Invasion but I'll borrow that another time. Wow.

and even then Mark Miller has 'fessed up his crimes during the Summer offensive and seems a decent chap, chasing Trolls, giving Libraries to schools and such, can't say as much for his Brother Frank

I couldn't agree with you more!  :o

Help! / Re: eBay Photos not working properly?
29 September, 2013, 11:16:51 PM
I'm also having the same problem. I put it down to poor network on account of the bad weather, but it's nice to know I'm not the only one getting these problems. Speaking of which I lost out on two items I've been following for near a week, the network was absolutely shite and my bid wasn't even confirmed on the closing stages and it left me reeling.  :'( >:(

Well that was a satisfying finale to The IT Crowd. Loved Richmond once again and getting Anonymous to feature on the shows running gag was hilarious.

Also, did anyone spot the Dredd vs. Death statue and first two case files (in the wrong order!) throughout the episode?

Wait. Do you mean our Richmond? Richmond's a T.V star?! :o
