Cheers for the share Patrick, I met Paul at the show - he was promoting his yarn, 'the hound' and out of all the indie work I saw (didn't see it all I must confess) his stood out. Regards his non entry His city scape on panel 2 ranges around 'optimum' in terms of how how good that particular panel could have been. An education in its own right!

Speaking of 2nd panels yours isn't too bad aoste ! It's my fave from all your offerings

As I put a few hours in the pages I might as well add some rough work in the mix -
Page 2 pencils ... Before digital inking manipulation

Great effort with regards your entry Patrick.

I can see the eventual winner dipicted brilliant backgrounds, I too will look forward to viewing his remaining pages. I agree with the previous comments in that it would be nice to see all other efforts - so
Any other entrants want to show theirs wares ?

The standard is going to only get better each year so keep it is a case of digging in and riding the wave of improvement !

And while on the subject are there any competitions of a similar nature to this TB 2000ad comp ?

Paul thanks for the kind words - very nice of you to say. I can see that yours was very consistent in terms of style and flow.  As I eluded to before I got a bashing with regards my cityscapes been too precise and my figure work been brasically below par , I should have used reference as oppose to being too proud in thinking I could do it straight from the imagination . I hope you give it another go next year and I'll enjoy the friendly sparring :)

If there are any others who entered please feel free to share?

This is potentially my portfolio cover for this years TB comp?
Done in raw pencils with inks to follow...
However, I will no doubt try and better my efforts before then

Nice try. Some really good drawings and ideas mixed in with some average ones.

Jim,
I'm glad I didn't find the address or else I would have wrongly sent in pencilled pages for review - so thanks for the 'heads up' on the inked work only advice. I'll look forward to utilising my W&N brushes when I have some spare time (we all know inking is a totally different craft with its own rules compared to pencilling;)). On the other note, the text was applied with PS' so all is not lost.
Again, Many Thanks

Paaul,
Very kind of you to say - I will be sure drop in some sketches when I get use to navigating these fine boards
- All the best

Re: Sorrow Hill - preview submissions

Dear Good People at 2000ad,

I have prepared a 5-page sequential art submission for review as per your submission guidelines, however I cannot find a postal address to send my pages to, therefore could you kindly assist in providing one ?  If not, I could attend one of the convensions in the north of England, are you schedualed to attend any ?
In the mean time here is the first page from The Sorrow Hill short in its full artifial digitialised glory (I'm an art hard-bound traditionalist by nature).

Kind regards

Mr KS Bell
