That's a very nice piece by SkullmoSimeonB.
I liked it in the competition,  but I had never even heard of The Burning Man before, and doesn't 'fit in' with what I'm collecting....but it's still a great piece of artwork....And done 'old style' too !!
There are some amazingly talented artists in this forum.......and there have been some breath taking entries...I'll be watching the Art Competition entries closely,  and if I see something I really like I'll be asking if they are 'up' for doing a commission...
Support our local talent, so to speak...... :D
Thanks as well for the info on how to post pictures SimeonB....as you can see it worked great!!
Cheers...

What a great thread !!

Hadn't seen that piece before, Ming...
And big thanks for posting that link to allow us to read blackmoccos' 'background' story about it ....
Great stuff.....

It's also very reassuring to know that other people also do 'react' strangely,  when they meet / speak to someone whose work they have admired greatly for years....

I am the Jaw !!
Brilliant.......Thanks for sharing SimeonB.

RIP The Dandy............One of my favourites when I was a very young child in about 1963.....
Dropped it after about a year for the slightly more 'rebellious' The Beano...

Cheers CF !!
Have just opened a photobucket account......Didn't bother posting my photos on Facebook as most of my Facebook friends aren't really into Comic Artwork...
Loved your photos with Lena BTW....Great stuff.

A lovely piece of Kano, Mark.....

A very 'physical' piece...
And the secret's obviously out as the box is open...........Just a really amazing piece of art....
I'm actually coming to really like Black and White artwork the more I see of it here .....And I've always preferred Colour before...
That piece is brilliant.....and your recent Defoe DP spread by Leigh Gallagher, still takes my breath away !!....I always have a quick look at it whenever I'm over on CAF.....
Great stuff..

Absolutely brilliant thread to start Mark  ....Take a bow, Sir... :D

Some wonderful commissions up already....
An amazing Cliff Robinson 'Minty' piece....Albion.....Just awesome, and the detail !!....Well done on that one !!..
Also really liking the Leigh Gallagher,  Dredd 'sketch' SimeonB.....If that's just a 'sketch' I'm a monkeys' uncle !!!...Just Brilliant !!
Mr blackmocco.....Words fail me on your Kevin O'Neill  Nemesis piece.....You Lucky, lucky man !!!...
I imagine Hippynumber1 is already 'lusting' after that as he's quite partial to a bit of Nemesis....

I'm adding my Mongrol commission piece by the amazingly talented ( and member of this forum ) Bob Molesworth who did this for me after I saw it in the March Art Competition........Needless to say it won that Months' competition amidst some spectacular entries.......His entry was digital,  but he kindly agreed to do me a fully hand painted version,  based on his digital line drawing.......and I love it !!

Really looking forward to seeing more commissions....but I'm afraid the 'wallet' might suffer when I see the standard of commissions available....
Cheers

Wasn't quite sure where to put this so I'll try here.

Anyway some thoughts on one of the Steve Yeowell pieces I bought recently.

Great Stuff Colin_YNWA....
I take it you are 'really pleased' with your artwork !!!....Not that it's at all obvious......
Good article though ...Really enjoyed your reasons why you loved it so much !!

I'm on a bit of a music trip at the moment as far as books are concerned.

I've just finished "Everyone Loves You When You're Dead: and Other Things I Learned from Famous People" by Neill Strauss, excerpts from his long career as an interviewer for Rolling Stone and the New York Times. Lots of bits that were deemed unsuitable for the actual published pieces, loads of hilarious backstage anecdotes and adventures with rock royalty. Recommended.

Absolutely, This with bells on.......!!

Finally got rid of the post-con junk food constipation.  Hurrah for high-fibre salads!  Feeling much better.

Agree with Radiator on this one !!........
Bowel movements are really only of interest to those doing the 'moving'....Too much information...but thanks for sharing.....

Thanks for that Thryllseekr,
I'm not 'into' role playing games, but can understand their attraction.....

As for the artwork, I'm really impressed with it, and would definitely buy a piece to add to my collection as I think some of it is truly wonderful.......The Ron Spencer piece and the Clint Langley piece in particular are really excellent work.... :D

There was a thing on called The Great British Budget Menu last night in which celebrity chefs had to help people on low incomes eat a nutritional balanced diet on a very tight budget.

The emphasis on the show was very definitely the need to shop around and get bargains as every penny counts.

So where did James Martin go on his bargain hunt? Sainsbury's and bloody Waitrose!

The others were slightly better but not one went to Aldi or Lidl.

Another 'typical' example of TV programme makers not having a bloody clue about what it means to live on a (very) limited budget...
No mention of Poundland either !!......
Sainsburys and Waitrose ....On a budget....FFS !!!???

I wasn't sure about the 'legality' of him having to sell to me at that price, if he didn't want to...
Could eBay 'force' him to sell at the agreed / highest bid price, or can he just withdraw it......There was no reserve price on it....

Doesn't matter now though, but was 'kinda' peeved at the time....But just wondering where I would have stood...
Cheers
