Jesus christ, this man is a professional 'journalist'.

I was under the impression that the Greysuits were all public school types until that line...

Must pay more attention to the background detail...

RE: Dredd's decisions to bend the law - I am a bit divided on this. I suppose Dredd wouldn't do this if there was even the slightest chance these creeps weren't guilty of something?

Congrats Grugz! I was only in relatively minor debt for the past year but I absolutely hated it. Particularly when I miscalculated the last payment date.

I did wonder if Justice was going to have a sly cameo in there.

They are easy to use. My sony mp3 player used to hold 4 gigs of music and was managed just like any other file storage on a PC, and you could use the folders to sort things if you didn't want to have to faff around with metadata like Artist/Album.

My iPod is my portable internet, podcast and games system so it has other benefits beyond the music. If all I wanted was music I'd have refused the free iPod.

QuoteI've done it with photos on my Mac mini but I must admit I haven't tried it with music files.

Funnily enough, using an iPod is much easier on a Mac. On Windows, you basically have to dump every photo onto your hard drive - no drag and drop.

Music you can do drag-n-drop using iTunes only - no direct to device - but Apple keeps trying to get you to sync, has made the interface much harder to effectively drag-n-drop and there are all kinds of headaches that occur when you switch between them. One of the reasons I never had an interest in buying an ipod, was happy with my USB-stick 4 gig MP3 stick-player. Then my dad upgraded and upgraded so I got one for free.... And barely listen to music now because of the hassle of moving stuff around.

Hmm. Just realised we know Peggy survives till 2014 thanks to Cap 2. Always feel it takes some of the bite out of things when you're dead certain about something like that (though obviously we all know Dredd will make it to next issue etc, it's a little different in my head).

Thanks guys these are one of my favourite things of the forum (and of anything ever, online... this and the Line It Is Drawn from CBR) so it's a real treat to see the things that came before.

And I am even more jealous of your artistic abilities.

Batman The Animated Series is great. Just watched loads with the kids and it hold up really well. My favourite episode so far is about an ordinary bloke who cuts up the Joker on his way home. Funny and scary.

My favourite Joker story ever.

Yes yes, it's a 'First World Problem' (yawn), and I don't want this to be an invitation for the Apple haters to crawl out of the woodwork, but....

What on Earth is Apple's reasoning for making the simple act of transferring music onto a device via iTunes such a fucking ordeal?

This. And transferring pictures too.

...
For me, the opposite was true - watching the new BSG made me appreciate the original a lot more, if only for being more ambitious, more forward-thinking, and less socially conservative than the remake....

...A good bridge between the two would be the underrated Space: Above and Beyond...

I'm with Pictsy RE: the new BSG. In many ways its like the world of the Big Meg to me; female judges are not even a thing, for example. Gaeta is not a minor character in my book either, rather he was one of my favourite parts of the main cast throughout the whole series and
made his betrayal in the coup
e ven more tragic. Whatever conservatism is expressed in BSG (and there's a lot) I felt as a reaction against the sheer horror and paranoia of their situation, and the fundamentalist viewpoints that arise around it. And in BSG remake, it's not just a wink and a nudge subtext a la the original.

Regarding Space: Above and Beyond - I loved that show so much. As a kid it looked incredible. The worldbuilding was immense too... the abused and exploited clone soldiers replacing the synthetics who had rebelled and sided with the unknown and terrifying alien force... the synthetics who spoke in machine code... And a very ambiguous 'good guys' who were responsible for the prejudices and seeds of their own destruction, at least in so much as the bigwigs in the corporations and the military had created both the AIs and covered up a blundering first contact.

Should remake this whilst they're trawling the back catalogue...

There's a show that needs a remake.

Really? I can see the FB droid answering lots of questions regarding availability but studiously not making any direct reference to Smiths.

They stocked the summer special in ridiculous numbers... Bah. How hard is it to get a clear answer on these things.
