69p!!! What a snag that is! I know it isn't exactly the Mona Lisa, but 69p is a bargain in anyone's book  :)

Nice one, JJ

Just got back in after a morning at the London Comic Con. Firstly, gutted we couldn't find Judge Burdis. Me and the boy looked everywhere. You couldn't move for stormtroopers and very large gents dressed as Anakin Skywalker, but no judges in sight  :(

We did, however, get to have a good chat with art droids Chris Weston and Kev Hopgood. Chris was very complimentary on my sons art that he showed him and has asked that he be sent pictures of more when he finishes it. He was a proper gent. Kev is a thoroughly nice bloke, and was somewhat swamped by the queue for David Lloyd - so if you are heading down later today or tomorrow, make sure you don't miss him! He has had a clear out and is selling loads of prelims. Big mistake we made was to look at the David Lloyd queue and decide to come back later. Doh! It just kept getting longer! So I didn't get my V For Vendetta signed...

Loads of great stalls, although very few selling comics and none I saw selling books. If you like your Lego, there was a couple of guys selling some older Star Wars and other character sets at fairly reasonable prices. They also had the minifigs in packets. When my son asked for one, they asked him what character he wanted and then, by feel, found him it in the sealed packet! Still charged him only £2 for each one! Great service! If you want a vinyl floor with an image of your favourite comic page, seek out Tufts Flooring and Alien Couture had loads of great character handbags and cushions (£15 a cushion is a great price for retro 80s Sci Fi chic I'm told!)

We were done by 11.15 as my son had had enough, and on the way to catch the 74 bus, saw that the queue outside was enormous! Snaked all the way round Earls Court. It was definitely best to get there early and pay extra for the tickets.

If you do decide to head down there, hope you enjoy yourselves!

That Rogue page is stunning. I love the Wilson droid's early stuff, it really goes above and beyond the call of duty!

I've run out of superlatives...

That page is a joy, ming. The detail is amazing! I might have to get me some of that Mr Wilson (he says looking at his empty pockets...)  :)

Have you ever used a mouse with a computer? Of course you have. Have you used Windows, Mac OSX or other user interface on a computer involving graphics rather than text? Sure, you are using it now.

Well, you have Douglas Engelbart to thank for that. Mr Engelbart died yesterday of kidney failure at the age of 88. The world of IT mourns the loss of a true innovator...

Grud! That explains it then. Is Paul based in America?

I'm almost certain he's still based in the UK, but probably puts his stuff up internationally due to most of his output being for Marvel comics (I previously bought some of his 'X-Factor' pages, which is why I had him on a saved search).
I shall seek him out...

He didn't even notice dying, he was too busy looking good.

Yes indeed. "Bullshit Mr Han man" is still a classic cinematic line. When I was a kid I thought he was the coolest guy I'd ever seen. He's still in the top 3.

I'm off to watch Enter The Dragon...

I'm with Mr Christ on this - there is no such thing as normal. It's a scientific nonsense. Everyone, in some way, is dealing with something. Once you realise this, it's really quite liberating...

Ah, so it was you that bagged this cover, Skullmo. Many congrats on snagging it! I think a few people may well have been after it, but you snuck in there, you sneaky fox, you! :)

As to what the medium might be I have to say my first thought was airbrush, but you have the piece so can probably tell a bit more. My Dad went through an airbrush phase and they don't necessarily always come out looking like Coke adverts. I saw a similar affect in one of his pieces as your Hicklenton.

Anyway, however it's done it is art. And great art often causes controversy.  Horses for courses.

Your round next time we catch up!
