I will be checking Sainsbury and Asda in Newport this evening. Cannot get to Smiths but both supermarkets have previously stocked Hachette publications so fingers crossed. I will probably pick up the first few from a bricks and mortar store and make a decision later whether to subscribe or not.  :-\ :-*

Free gifts tend to be sent once you sub. The price of the first is supposed to be the incentive at the start. Is Newport bad today? The scaremongering appears to have led Cardiff to be dead on the roads.
Hi James. Newport not to bad at moment, but I imagine it will get progressively worse (if that is possible) once the protests and convoys of bigwigs start. I imagine this afternoon and rush hour to be fun!

Are there any free gifts with the retail version, and is it actually on sale yet??
If so I will be popping in the supermarket on my way home if I can traverse the police infested, traffic nightmare NATO fest that is Newport.  :(

Wow I am in (at least for the 1st couple!) will see how it pans out after that as I do already own quite a few of these other as originals or via Case Files etc so will have to see if I can justify the cost on an ongoing basis. Very nice design though on these!

Darren, very nice job there mate. My plan was to have a go in sketchup as well to get basic shapes and lighting sorted and then work on that. Will have to make a bloody good job of it to better yours though!  ;)

Well done all another bunch of amazing entries and worthy winners!
Gutted that yet again I was unable to get an entry in, nor even vote. Just did not get time to draw up the 2000ad Inaugural Clay Pigeon society featuring Harry Exton, Joe Pineapples, Orlok the Assassin, and Sinister & Dexter! Will have to plan the timings of my holidays and the arrival of my 3rd child a bit better next time!
Hopefully now all these shenanigans are out of the way I can get something in for Septembers comp!

Carl Hiassen audio books - Floridean bliss !

Oooh that may have to be a new acquisition. I love a bit of Hiassen and have read everything but the past 2 -3 novels. I used to visit the area where the novels are set regularly and you can actually picture the characters he writes out there. South Florida is a strange (but amazing) place indeed!

Hello board! Not been around for a week or so as impending child number 3 finally arrived on 9th of this month. 10 days late but not without a few hitches  :(. Glad to say now though that mother and child are both home and doing well, if not a little tired!  :D :D :D
Have also just booked a week away for all of us in Devon for next week so will need to get my skates on for this months art competition entry, as only have 5 days to get something done!  :o :-\

I recently visited my Nan's and went throught her attic looking at all the boxes I stuck up there over 20 years ago. It surprised me the amount of good stuff there was! e.g.
Diceman issue 2
JD Megazine 1-20ish
Manga Mania 1-10
Toxic 1-10
Loads of 2000ad annuals, specials and yearbooks
Strip 1-?
Some bBritish Alien collection issues 1-3 (collecting DH stuff?)
Marshall Law comic of some description eps 1-?
And my favourite piece Lobo's Back 1-4 stored in the original cardboard mini standee.
There was lots more but that was all I can remember at present. There will be some happy reading there!

Film & TV / Re: IDW to develop Dir Gently TV series

I wonder if this will be an improvement over the Stephen Mangan BBC  TV series which I was not overly enamoured with. In fact I was a little disappointed with that, so I suppose this new version can only go up  :-\

Announcements / Re: Dark Judges T-Shirts coming soon!

Is it as simple, as 4 shirts with a different badge on the front of each?
So from the confines of your own living room you can Cosplay as the judge of your choice. (Additional dead chicken and rack of ribs to complete the Judge Death uniform available for small surcharge of £240,000,000, Sheeps head for Judge Mortis available from all good butchers!)

I couldnt see how to edit my post, so sorry for double posting - I think its actually the Note series of samsung galaxy tablets that have the wacom digitizer

I have thought about this as well as a cheap on the go sketching tablet. Not sure if the Samsung tablets have pressure sensitivity though?? The Microsoft surface pro also has a Wacom screen and supports pressure sensitivity but unfortunately runs Win 8 and cost a bloody fortune!

Season 4 of The Walking Dead will be on 5* this Saturday! And double bills.

Oh, nice timing! We just finished season 3 on Netflix and 4 isn't on there yet. Cheers Goaty!

Ditto, I am just on episode 15 of Series 3 so should finish this in time to watch Season 4 on 5*.

Studio Ghibli:  http://www.imdb.com/news/ni57559235/

This news is very upsetting. I have loved Ghibli movies since seeing Laputa: Castle in the Sky as a kid, and now love sitting down with my own kids and watching all of their movies, and eagerly awaiting the next release. It is sad to know there will be no more from them.  Spirited Away must rank as one of my favourite movies of all time.  :'( :| :'(
