Unless of course it is all a cunning ruse and CF is a Borrower and it is just a bog standard poster. :-* ;)

That must weigh a ton to lug about then. Very impressive still though!  ;)

Film & TV / Re: Penny Dreadful

I watched episode 7 yesterday and will be acquiring the finale this evening. All I can say is that I have really enjoyed this. Yes it may be hammy, yes it may be OTT, yes it may be unoriginal but there are twists and turns in every episode that develop the story in interesting ways. Hopefully this is building to what I hope will be a satisfying conclusion!
I shall let you know tomorrow (spoiler free of course!)

Well done Alex, a helluva cycle.

Hope you had the sunscreen on!

Actually I didn't as it was an early start and I forgot to pack it, but luckily with the ride being along a canal towpath it was mostly sheltered by the trees. It was still bloody hot though! AM proud of what I have done, and am actually contemplating doing it again next year!  :o :-* :D

Just to let those who donated, plus anyone else who is interested know, that I did the bike ride Saturday without a hitch.
Cycled 39.1 miles in 3hr 48min (not including stopping for a medicinal beer 5 miles from the end!) Was a little sore afterwards but thoroughly enjoyed it! by the time I have collected all my donations I should have close to £300 towards charity and it has been estimated that the overall group total could near £30,000 so a big well done to all involved!!!

Help! / Re: contactless payment.

I am positive that I have seen contactless payment stickers that can be stuck to the inside / outside of your phones case to enable it to become used in this manner.

A quick Google tells me this is called PayTag but again I am unsure id this is used by anyone except Barclays??

If it was a charger a new one would only cost a few pound off ebay Check Volts and Amps / Milliamps to ensure you get the right one.
A micro usb cable probably less than a pound, but it would probably take forever to charge through a PC.
You could even be lucky on freecycle if funds were tight?

Do you have another charger off a smart phone, or a usb cable? As it could be a dodgy charger. This will confirm if the charger is dead as it should charge either via plug, or plugged into to pc via micro usb connector?

Help! A friend got this for me as an early Christmas present.

I changed it up
I inserted the Sim card and pressed the restart button so it would acknowledge the card.
it then turned itself off.
It will not turn back on again no matter how long I press the power button or wherever I touch the screen.

What the hell have I managed to do to it?

I imagine you have already done this but have you checked the orientation of the sim card plus also any memory cards that may be inserted. Also try starting without any cards in place to see if it starts up then??

Am now up to £242 and very happy! I now have 6 days to reach my £300 target.
If anyone is interested after the event I shall post up any pics of the ride that include my lovely mug!
On a more serious note, overall the donations are up to £7.5k off only 22 of the riders, with 150 riders still to submit their donations we should be looking good for the £20k target!!  :D :D

Up to £164 now from my £300 target! I am getting there slowly! All I need to do now is ride the bloody thing. Did 20k last night and it was a tad warm to say the least.
I hope it is a bit cooler come the day

Prog / Re: Prog 1885 Aliens! You Want Earth?

Cracking prog as is the norm these days, and cracking cover Mr Robinson. Your work as always is faultless. Anyway, was it just me or did anyone else when reading Grey Area, think that when the God ship appeared that it looked like a giant Tharg head??
If you look at the very first image of the ship  I thought it looked like the rosetta dead centre with Thargs pointy ears either side.
I half expected 'God' to be revealed as Tharg as a giant Galactus type figure!!
Oh well just me then!  :-[

I am up to £99 in sponsorship now with both online and offline donations  :D
If anyone else did want to donate then I would be extremely grateful and appreciative.
Thanks!
