Other Reviews / Re: Age of the Wolf

I hope it falls into place as a whole. Read only the last arc in the prog and didn't enjoy that with a host of technical mistakes in the storytelling. Sad to say.

However, the collection arrived in the post as a prize from Tharg and I will give it a fair crack. The art style is one that appeals to me - smacks of the wonderful Shawn McManus - and the story itself is fundamentally intriguing and worth running with. I'm encouraged by your comment that it reads well as a whole, Whizzbang. Reading collections or re-reading entire runs is not something I really do so here's hoping.

Hi Paul, caught your entry at ThoughtBubble, well done on getting shortlisted in the portfolio comp. Seeing the entries considered by the art droids was my highlight of the weekend.

Anyway, Paisley-wise I can see there's you, me and Buttonman :) I'm the runt of the litter...

Wotcher Blockmaniac  :)
Besides waffling about the Galaxy's Greatest and related gubbins, you'll find regular art and story comps around these parts. Dive in...

Pewdiepie is the subject of South Park s18 e9 btw all. Obviously grinds many peoples gears and not just yours. All gets a bit meta needless to say.

That required Googling on my part. Highly unlikely South Park has been running 20-ish years...???
Which prompted memories of a comic shop in Washington DC in about '98. Working out there, bored out of my skull,
but delighted to find a comic shop, asked if they had Watchmen (worth re-reading). "Oh, what's that?". WTF?
I bring this up because what they DID have were 300 South Park T-shirts. I almost bought "I WANT MY CHEESY
POOFS!". For cultural reasons I realised this was an item I could never wear at home. Few bucks saved.

Oh they'll all be very excited I'm sure which will be quickly dampened by the realisation of a three week wait for the next prog.

There goes glass-half-empty man.

Also, comics aren't in Film/TV/Games. That doesn't make any sense.

Och. I wanted to say that  :)

No idea what he's done recently on FB or YouTube but Brand's appearance on QT looked mostly heartening. On the face of it. He seems to be in it for the right reasons. Thing is - and I may be misremembering this - but a few years back he was advocating Anarchy (????) So pleading now that we withhold our votes is really short-sighted. With voting skewed to the older population, what does more of the young (you'd think) not voting achieve? The opposite.

It's the system. We all - as near as damnit - voted in the Scottish Referendum, because each vote mattered. First Past The Post is a horse's arse.

Forgot to say - must also concur with those raving about Tooth & Claw. Got about halfway through and decided it was okay but probably wouldn't pick it up regularly. Completely changed my mind by the end. Brilliant storyline, intrigued as to where it is going and lovely artwork.

It's astonishing. Talky animals may have been enough to dissuade me, but glad I jumped in. Read this, Fraction's ODY-C #1 and the prog in a sitting, all stunning in their own ways & made me happy.

Oh god we are getting fleisher crap...we've burrowed below the barrel and hitconcrete shit

That was my reaction to the comment on HH too. The floppies are a drokking chore and I'll probably skip Rose O'Rion, glance at the pictures. The first few pages were grim to read. If it's not Meg-worthy, please don't bundle this stuff needlessly.

Another Madonna tune '' La? Isla Bonita'' contains the line ''Young girl with eyes like potatoes''. Still not sure what she says to this day but I'm sticking with my version-it's poetry!

Yup, and all the better for making sense (though not initially) !
Just checked the actual line and - of course - that makes no sense...

I'd rather listen to TS than The Political Thread these days. That probably casts me in an awful light but I know what I mean.

It's a fantastic blog. Partly for his modestly, mostly for the jaw-dropping art.

Let me know when you figure out what cover Mick's talking about here...
Quote from: MickI wasn't happy with this picture while I was making it and time has not healed the wound.

I will admit to liking the general composition and the drawing/colouring of the dinosaur (apart from the teeth), but everything else just went to pot.

It was commissioned in the early eighties as a cover for the dummy first issue of a magazine which was to be called Zarjaz (what else?), but, as far as I know, the project didn't get much further – hardly surprising, with this aberration stinking the place up.

Saw this the other day. Does make you wonder.....!
