What a beauty, if anything even better with the passage of time. A master.

The helmet does seem impractical, hampering Johnny's peripheral vision. Until of course, you realise his eyes could see through it anyway...
I'm sure whoever plays Johnny will be careful  :)

Thanks for the photos, there was a lot of giggling and fondling of the merchandise and it was hard to appreciate everything on display :)

Like my statuettes like I like my art (mostly), black & white. That version looks great, which is kind of fitting as that's generally what a "McMahon" version of Dredd (again, mostly) brings to mind.

I try to explain this simple principle in tea making to people and they look at me like I'm mad!!!

You're right of course. Apart from the fact the science makes sense, it looks weak and tastes worse. People are silly.

Great to meet more Forumites this weekend.

Yeah, same here too (including Bat).

On train home now, picked up some lovely swag and travelling light was a good plan. Decided against more books on Sunday, pragmatism kicked in (...bloody pragmatism). 4 talks/panels, highlight probably the 2000ad portfolio judging today. 5 droids commenting on the entries really fascinating. Worthy winner  :)

The minor glitches were greeted by heartfelt groans, a recommendation in itself...
Seemed to last about 8 mins, though apparently it is longer  :)  Wonderful.

I'm going to the bar beside the ibis budget. I think I'm gonna get drunk.

Also just checked in. The 'Palace' place? Describe your judge outfit so that I may recognise you  :)

Thanks Darren. Had my first session last night and really enjoyed it. Main focus points of the session where joints which was a good learning curve for me as i've never managed to draw a convincing shoulder joint yet. Still wasn't very good by the end of it but maybe next week.

And yes, we started out using willow for a rough sketch then used a rough grade pencil of our choice (I'm so used to using a mechanica pencil at this point I just stuck with that) for the second.

I hear you Hawk  :)
My l-o-n-g sabbatical from comics and any kind of art came to an end only recently and I returned to life-drawing classes a few months ago. I just love it, because it's scheduled you have to make time for it and that really helps. You will improve too, it is addictive stuff...

My class is very informal (no tuition) but after some trial and error, it's charcoal for me and due to the turnaround of poses, usually A4. Some people paint, it's a real mixed bag of methods. Have looked into formal classes too, that's next. I'm sure the real artists here can offer good advice, the forum art on show is pretty damn inspiring most days  :)

I read my prog to escape from a world of smartphones and tablets and zeigeisty wank I don't understand.

Well quite. Creating barcodes (with the associated grief) are a part of the day job and the prog covers are so much nicer since that particular eyesore got sidelined. Slightly.

This picture reminds me of Cam Kennedy's work. Incredible that it took only half an hour. Plus, those teats really stand out.

They do follow you round the room.

Maybe this will be more House of Cards than Game of Thrones....or somewhere between.
Game of Cards?
I'm so very, very, sorry.
House of Cards.

Yup, got it. I'm going back to smileys after every joke  :)

Finally read this in a fancy hardback (trilogy) a few weeks back, so interested in this. I imagine an I, Claudius feel, it's more talking-heads and affairs of state than anything else I can think of. Done properly, with some anachronisms expunged, could be a treat...

There was a lone Trooper named Rogue
Whose skin was most certainly not rouge
His stories were good
But then they went crap
A bit like this limerick

Must try harder.
