1. James Newell --  Raptaur                         (Dynamic, inked beautifully. How does he do that???)
2. antodonnell  --  Armoured Gideon           (Onto colour AG on the 'slog and just a great strip. Beats PoliceSheep)
3. pictsy  --  Earth Goddess Danu                (Reminded me of Bisley......, and nice design)

HMs
Allied72  --  Slaine as the Horned God
Dog Deever  --  Judge Prager
Steven Austin  --  Kano

Welcome to the board / Re: Howdy

Welcome, at ease. You've lucked out with your timing, the prog currently is a smashing thing.

When I read armchair rugby my thrill-addled brain misfired and came up with wheelchair rugby. Now 'murderball' is a strip I could see in Tharg's line-up. The action. The blisters! The bathos!

Prog / Re: Prog 1904 - Class War

Very fine prog, looks in ongoing rude health and it seems the Christmas prog may crank things up further. Spoiled...

The cramped and unusual panels - and thick dialogue - in Dredd wasn't lost on me either, but that particular ship has sailed  :). What I did wonder is whether Wagner or Ezquerra came up with that. You ponder these things when it's this engrossing.

Ichabod and Stickleback, can't decide which I enjoy more. Wonderful stuff. Got to love B & W art.

Greysuit seems standard Mills fare and Kingdom got more boring, sad to say. I may skip this from here on.

I had a real 'woah!' Moment the other day when someone pointed out plastic dinosaurs are made out of real dinosaurs.

Grud on a greenie. I'm having that  :)

Do we know if these have been coloured?

Will be coloured, as the 8-issue (aborted) series, collected.

I should never have forgotten your wonderful Old One Eye!

Thanks for noticing, I think  :o

Stupidly pleased to see James follow up your howler with one of his own  :)

On the Hag Monster: I'm pretty sure you've zapped the wrong eye, there. I done the research this month, trust me ! Not all 2000ad monsters are symmetrical y'know !

Too heavy to lift, 'muscleman' ?  :)

I think it's part of the charm of the initial progs that they feel of another age. Not quite catching the prog at the beginning myself, it's odd to wonder what I'd have made of Flesh, etc. You flatter yourself that you'd have felt the same, under different circumstances.

And as is often stated here, newbies are usually directed to Case Files 5, not 1. For good reasons.

Prog / Re: Prog 1903 - Sign of the Times

Just a great prog.

D'Israeli is just incomparable, a unique talent. Find Edginton's scripts can scale the heights and crawl in the rad pits more than most - here, he's fantastic.

Some lukewarm responses to Kingdom now, so at least I'm not going mad  :)  Most baffling, are the claims that this is 'pure' 2000ad. But it looks like garish Marvel (better art, admittedly), and reads like a succession of fight scenes. Classic 2000ad is black humour and originality and non- 'Big Two' art ? Then you have to wince through the puns, as you seek some nutrition on your journey. It may turn around for me. But, first impressions.

Maybe the fact the other standout strip for me - Ichabod - is in mono says more about me.

Really fantastic meg...
You'd think Wagner was headed for the RIP thread the way his (sublime) tales are greeted recently. Stop that for Drokk's sake! He's been experimenting with re-juve treatment! Hooray!

My only quibbles - and quibbling is one of the greatest joys - are on the scripts for Ministry and Uprise this time round. Because the prog & meg and so stonking these days I am prepared to say that their convoluted/confusing elements (I was left scratching my head a few times) is down to lag between episodes, and thrill-power damage. Meanwhile, the art everywhere was glorious, so there's that.

Dark Horse Presents Dredd, Zombie Dredd, Manga Dredd, All-Star Gruddamn Dredd, Galen Loves Joe Dredd...

Hush now, I can hear the cries of the Earth 616 Commando Forces' starving family...

And don't forget the next IDW crossover. My Little Dredd.

Only if he attends the ceremony in his Big E costume.

Doubt he'd want to appear in public in Big E smalls.
