Spotted:o

That Mark Millar, at the Theatre last night *
I tried explaining to Her Indoors exactly who he was, but the eyes glazed over and I found my own interest waning. It's a tough sell.

* Get me! I am not a theatre-goer - first time in years - and not a play I'd have picked. But thoroughly enjoyed it, got to admit.

Some glorious covers there. I wouldn't usually consider an Anderson collection but Fabry is a hell of a salesman.

Interesting. Puts The Long Walk in a different light, a question of attitude (eg. Minty) or "extreme" age... Also: well done that Carroll droid  :)

The Imitation Game

Excellent as expected, tragic and evocative of the time, but more than that, threw up a couple of surprises too (probably not worth spoilering here so I won't). Great stuff.

No coincidence that the only poster above (perhaps never widely distributed, I wouldn't know) I like is Ant-Man - it actually has an idea.

Why is 'aging badly' a criticism? It's an irrelevance.

An enjoyable Meg, not always the case, and a quicker read than normal.

Lawless is clearly crafted and draughted  :) with love and it shows. Worthy too of the cover, even if that plays fast and loose with the actual events in this episode. But I've come to enjoy covers that grab your attention and don't worry too much.

Blunt felt like a mismatch, quite 'flat' storytelling (especially given the hallucinogenic element) but redeemed by Cook's detailed art. I lingered over many panels and was rewarded for it.

Don't read that horror thing.

Yet again S & D in the floppy was great, Clarke's crisp art and Abnett's superior wisecracking have fully converted me to this strip. Grand.

Best of the bunch for me is Dredd. Of course Dredd can be rejuved - it's the future! Such an important one-off feels like it should be in the Prog, but that's hardly a complaint.

Enjoy yerself Trouty. I'm returning from wilderness years (20+) and while it's no literal emigration, I continue to look forward to rediscoveries 'cos they remain a source of joy.

Quimps ?!

Maybe that's a cultural thing...

Would be very similar to Rian Hughes Dare in Revolver I'd guess.

Spot on - and I prefer Hughes...

Wotcher Old One Eye  :P

Hm, there are quite a few here who *never* stopped reading the progs (I know, I know) so on that basis this prog-thing isn't a mid-life crisis ?  :) Unless the whole thing is viewed as a life-long crisis. Ah, drat.

Have fun!

Brian Bolland on Judge Dredd: In The Bath
D'Israeli on Nemesis (any book)
Belardinelli on Grey Area
Jose Ortiz on Tales of Deadworld
John Hicklenton on Judge Dredd: Necropolis

None will/can happen, of course...
