I seem to remember it being said that if demand was sufficiently big they weren't against the idea.

I would love a HC colour reprint of Oz. The colour spreads in the current CF version are almost unreadable.

That would be issue 17 of the Mega Collection :)

Other Reviews / Re: Hondo City

I'd say go for the two Mega Collection volumes as they're easy to get, good value for money and only miss out two short Inaba stories:

Warriors (which I think is actually a Dredd story and may well find a place in a future Dredd volume of the collection).

Big Lix and Flying Kicks (I've never read this one and don't know where it would fit, I assume it was left out due to space and lack of relevance to the main plot threads, but I wouldnt mind getting a summary of this story to confirm this).

The one other thing that I found a little odd was the choice of stories split between the Hondo City justice and Shimura books...I found it quite confusing as someone who had never read them before. But I found that as the Shimura volume is set during the MCJ volume, reading them both together and swapping between them at appropriate points really helped :)

Still taken together they made for two bloody fantastic books...

I'm hoping expansion to new territories can be seen as a good sign. There's only really been one duff book so far, by my estimation, and the others have all been good to great.

...and even that one duff book (I'm making an assumption here, that our opinions align)  was an interesting read for me, as I hadn't read the stories before :) I certainly see the expansion as a good thing :)

So far I've been very happy with their customer service via, facebook, e-mail and phone. The only thing that I wasn't happy with was when they decided that screen captures showing a field length issue on the website were not good enough and they asked for my account password so that they could look at it. That one was via facebook.

The facebook whinging does seem to have quitened down quite a bit recently :) I'm looking forwards to my next issues arriving...hopefully on Saturday :)

I suspect that they're trying to get all subscribers in sync with each other too. A couple of months ago I only received one book in that months delivery. This put in sync package wise with a friend of mine (he subscribed with issue 1, but I subscribed with issue 3, and I ended up always being one book ahead of him), but not with dispach dates. Where his were sent out towards the end of the month, mine we're always sent out at the beginning of the month...but for the last two deliveries we've both had them dispatched at the same time.

Yeah, my next two have appeared on the account too...and only 3 weeks after the last lot were sent. Looks like they're stepping up the rate of delivery...that's 6 issues in 5.5 weeks now.

I found the choice of stories split between the Hondo City justice and Shimura books to be rather odd...and quite confusing as someone who had never read them before. I had to go through both books and note down the issue numbers of each story so that I could make sense of some things.

To me it would have made much more sense to have had the early Shimura stories and those relating to Taoka (did I spell that right?) in the Shimura book and the Shimura stories featuring young Junko (again, not sure if I spelt that right) in the HCJ book...would have made for a much better narrative flow with the two books running more smoothly in parallel with each other rather than chopping and changing.

Still taken together they made for two bloody fantastic books...now I just need to track down the two Inaba stories that were not included...presumably due to space and lack of relevance to the main plot threads?

I'm assuming that Warriors may well find a place in a future Dredd volume of the collection. But I'm not sure where else Big Lix and Flying Kicks fit's in. Could anyone give us a summary of those two stories, please?

Also I may well be wrong in this, but is the young Junko who was under Shimura's care for a few stories the same Cadet Junko who eventually turns up in Hondo City Justice?

Well that's a surpise; my Hachette account is now saying that another two books were dispatched on the 20th, just 17 days after the last batch was despatched. Guess they're trying to catch up after earlier delays...

Prog / Re: Sci-Fi Special 2015

The end of year prog has filled the void that used to be occupied by a hardbacked annual...these days I would be upset that I have a nice year long run of the prog, all of which fit nicely into A4 wallets and a ring binder to keep neatly organised...and then comes along what is essentially a hardback version of the end of year prog, with some extra fluff, to ruin my nice organised collection... >:(

Sure I'd buy it...wouldn't have any choice there...but I wouldn't be happy about it

I'll add my voice to this; I'm currently enjoying Absolom, but I've never read any caballistics Inc.

I got my 10 and 11 today, did anyone else notice the improved packaging? Thicker corrugated card this time, which is great (although it meand the packages don't fit through my letter box now ). Looks like they are paying attention to the complaints of damaged books/torn packaging :)

Mine were despatched on the 3rd June too. Can anyway advise how long delivery usually is from posting?

I've found it's usually about a week to 9 days.  If you've not had them by early next week it's probably worth getting in touch with them.  Incidentally, I'm not sure if the date they appear on the Hachette site is necessarily the same as when they're dispatched.  I get the impression they usually send them out after this date.  (My account says 3rd June too btw).

I'll second this, I'm expecting mine by the weekend as they often seem to turn up on a Saturday, that's the latest I'd expect.

On the up side, if you ever cancel your premium subscription then you get a refund of £1 per issue since the last print was dispatched...I wonder how that will work when they ineveitbly extend ther series to 120 issues, more prints or the premium £1 stops...

Anyone else on here a premium subscriber to this?  I've just noticed that my account has been updated and the first premium poster will be sent with my next delivery.  Unfortunately, it looks like they're expecting to charge me 5 quid for it, which makes no sense as the premium subscription is already £1 more per issue to pay for this.  Anyone else noticed this?

What issue number did you start your subscription at? I believe that if you didn't start from issue 1 you have to pay the extra £1 for each issue that you hadn't bought through the subscription...I'm sure that's what it says in the smallprint...

Edit: From the terms and conditions on the megacollection site:

Premium subscriptions:
•There are 6 limited edition prints to collect. Each print is 10" x 8" in size and comes with a mount.
•If you opt for a premium subscription, you will receive your first limited edition print with issue 10, after which you will receive a print every 14 issues.
If you start your premium subscription in the middle of a run of 14 issues, you can receive the print for this run by making up the difference in price of those issues for which you only paid a standard subscription amount.
•Standard subscriptions can be cancelled at any time.
•A premium subscription can be cancelled at any time and you will receive a refund of £1 per issue (for issues which you have paid for) past the issue which was dispatched with the last premium subscription gift.
