In many ways the ultimate Strontium Dog romp: The Killing.

I don't disagree with Goosegash... but nevertheless, who has ever, ever, read anything by John Wagner and thought "this is a bit hard to follow, I'd better re-read the whole thing in one go when it's finished, just to figure out what actually happened."

Clarity is certainly not the only factor that determines the quality of a story or of writing, but it's not unimportant either.

Very much this.

The Order might well be "better" than Skip Tracer; it might have better characters, but the difficulty I find engaging with it, means it's hard to tell.

*Splutter*! A forum letter writer outs himself! Who are you on the chart good sir? Please refer to the Beast online / Lettersentertainyou thread for in depth discussions on all things letter page.

Do you have a link to your spreadsheet so I can see where I stand?

Got to go witH King Clarkie.

I think Jimbo has summed it up nicely. The Big Bust if great fun but the Schicklgruber Grab is iconic.

Just love the bit where Johnny uses the number 3 cartridge to burrow into Hilter's bunker.

There was a time a few years back where I wrote a load of letters to both the Prog and the Meg. And pretty much every one of them got printed. It's a massive thrill to see your letter printed. A bit less so when Tharg disagrees with what you said 🤣. Even less so when a subsequent letter does that as well 🤣🤣.

I prefer writing to the Meg as generally they seem to print longer letters. And you get a nice Graphic Novel as a prize.

I then stopped...I really should start as I must be close to getting near the top of Buttonman's list. A handful more should see me into the top 20, if not the top 10. Surely that's incentive enough to start again?

Aw man that's terrible. ZZ Top we're one of my favourite bands back in the 80s and I recently got back into them, buying all the albums they made since then that I had missed and so they have pretty much been my go to band for the last three months.

This might be heresy and I'm risking being run out of town but, I don't think Carlos's art was suited to the Viking scenes. I have always thought certain artists suit certain types of story and historical sword / axe stuff isn't a good match for Carlos. For instance I've never wanted to see his take on Slaine.

Space Westerns on the other hand....

I suspect I'll be in the minority but I'll go for The Bitch.

Two important Strontium Dog stories. Neither is a typical story. I suspect I like Portrait a lot less than a lot of others, but I'm not going to vote for the Final Solution, so Portrait it is.

The Rammy is a poor man's 'The Killing' but good fun and gets my vote for some top Middenface action.

Yes it is, but McNulty is hilarious throughout.
