*Not pants.  Odd how much British English is going to cross the Atlantic within the next 122 years.

I just wanted to second this, it totally makes sense that everything is spelled the British way but it makes me laugh sometimes when I'm reading it.

But then again, at the con I was just at in Texas, there were a bunch of judges with SUPER strong TX accents and it was pretty funny hearing that come out of their mouth with the helmets on. I guess we could say they were from Texas City to justify it :)

If your fiancée can't deal with your obsession I'm sure there are plenty here on the board that would step in for him.

haha

Well, I work in video games so I have to listen to other people's obsessions all day too, so it evens itself out  :D

Some more images of Karl being a good sport, if you guys haven't been following any of the con stuff being posted.  Sorry for large images, I linked from a cosplay tumblr.

Him coming out with the cosplay judges and telling them they're a pass

Haha look at his face in this one

at signings

A crossover helmet from Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Dredd that was given to him as a gift.

I work at EA at the Dead Space location, we aren't working on a new DS4 right now.  But please don't quote me on that :p

Haha just the badges for the photos. I'd love to have a helmet just for fun in the future but they're quite expensive.

I've pretty much focused on Dredd stuff since it's only been like 2 months since I started reading.  I'm curious to get into Slaine, we have a pretty famous metal band here in San Francisco called Slough Feg :)  Also mentioned it before but my fiancĂ©'s cousin randomly came into possession of hundreds of old 2000AD issues so I'll get to read those.

You should tell someone to unlock my board access, since I only have 20 posts I can't post in most of the forum! :p

I never read any of the comics prior to the film, I mean I knew they existed, but since I live in the US it's hard to find.  I actually went to 2 large comic shops, one in San Francisco (where I live now) and one in Dallas (my hometown), they had never heard of Dredd WTF!  Like I tried to order Underbelly through one and it was so difficult, I think maybe I'll just order it online.

I got more into comics in the past few years when I was working on Marvel Heroes.  Plus a bunch of my current EA coworkers are ex-comic artists, they actually know quite a bit about Dredd!

I have some really epic faux Dredd 2 and Dredd 3 movie posters in the works (featuring the Big Lie and the Dark Judges), unfortunately I have to finish wedding projects haha first. Booooo

General / Judge badges in!!
10 February, 2014, 11:33:44 PM
I just got me and my bridesmaids badges in from a guy on the RPF.  Super well made, heavy, and he even added clasps on the back.

It's super popular now to have the traditional classy wedding, but then take a few fun bridal party photos...the girls are going to be Judges and the boys are going to be Marvel SHIELD agents (me and my fiance met working on Marvel stuff) :)  My maid of honor is a 3d artist and will be 3d printing the SHIELD badges for me.

Just excited, it's been a Dredd weekend, wanted to share :)

My poor fiance has been putting up with my 2 month obsession, he even made me Judge ornaments as an Xmas gift haha.

Well I got it printed up at a museum-quality fine art print shop as opposed to Kinkos (I dunno if you are in the UK and have Kinkos), which is a cheap but crappy chain.  It cost me over $100 because I used a really nice thick slightly textured paper, it looks almost screenprinted.  If I had printed it at a cheaper place, the entire poster probably would have turned out black but mine has really nice subtle blacks.

I'm sure if Rebellion printed it in large quantities it'd probably be like $20  :-\

I've bought quite a few issues myself, read some online. My fiance's cousin apparently bids on storage in Cincinnati Ohio (like in Storage Wars) and one storage unit had boxes and boxes and boxes of old 2000AD issues!  Pretty excited to see what's in there.

I've asked Adi Shankar to take a look at the Dredd America reading, he's expressed interest in making a Dredd one-shot in the past (he worked on the movie and also has made a TON of good Marvel shorts).

Karl is doing a TON of cons in the US, people could definitely arrange for some more readings :)
