I can't remember the last floppy supplement I enjoyed.. and it's making me want to buy the megazine less... These old strips just have painful scripts that overly narrate what is happening in the panels with characters exclaiming what is happening. Maybe it just shows how much comics have matured but these seem more often than not a tedious read without depth. Perhaps it's because I'm a fairly new reader so most of these strips have no added nostalgia for me..

I'm annoyed I've written 3 fairly negative posts in a row. The meg itself is on top form, it's just these floppies leaving me flat.

. . . . just imagine it doesn't exist then

Very good point. But I feel like I need to read everything I've paid for!

Prog / Re: Prog 1899 - Lords Have Mercy?

The prog hasn't been hitting it for me as of late so I'm hoping prog 1900 gets back on track! Perhaps just my personal preferences but other than Dredd, all the running strips weren't cutting it. Black Shuck has been an especially painful read each week for me.I'm sure that's the point of an anthology and that some readers thought this run of stories were top notch though!

I loved the first two series of Brass Sun so I hope the fourth series comes back with a bang.. the third has been hit and miss for me - some great episodes amongst fairly uneventful ones.

Roll on Dark Justice..

I'm yet to read the main meg.. not sure what made me read the Calhab Justice floppy first.. but it's time I won't get back. With all the great comics coming out at the moment I can't help but feel these supplements are a waste of good reading time. Sorry!

I'm sure the meg itself is as good as ever though..

Games / Re: resident evil 1 remake...remake

Bloody loved the Resi series up until Resident Evil 5. As someone said, 4 was the beginning of the end.

Resident Evil 2 was possibly my favourite game of all time. I think I gave up on Resi 1 after getting pissed off with the second meeting with the snake in the attic? It was just too frustrating not being able to shoot and run at the same time.

Prog / Re: Prog 1890 - The Butcher Of Rome

Here's my two pence worth (first time posting on this thread.. be nice!)

Dredd: Not a bad opening episode - I am intrigued as to where they have dumped that poor mutant and what will happen to him so that's a good sign. It doesn't feel like it's going to be a ground breaking tale but entertaining. It's no Sensitive Klegg that's for sure. I loved Boo Cooks artwork on GunHeadz quite a while back but I'm not sure I like it in Dredd world - it all seems a bit too squidgy.

Sinister Dexter: Hmm.. I don't want to invoke Colin's Sin-Dex appreciation dance again.. but I'm not feeling it. So many funts. So many many funts. I feel like I spend too much of my time reading this strip when I could be reading something so much more fulfilling. Artwork is pretty cool but I've never been interested in the characters and if it was released as it's own floppy there is no chance I would be buying/reading it.

Brass Sun: Have loved this strip from the beginning. Although nothing much as happened this time yet, as others have said it feels like part of something bigger - maybe better read in its 32-page format that's been released. I love the universe and the artwork is great. It kind of reminds me a bit in style to Saga but I'm probably talking garbage.

Aquila: I have enjoyed this strip in the past, and the scenes are great here. It sets the scene, giving us a bit of a recap of what has gone on before.. although is it only me who can't remember why Aquila is working for the tyrannical emperor? Is it just the promise of being told how to get his soul back or something?

3riller: I was enjoying this, but this last episode left me a little flat. This has been the case quite a few times with the finale of recent 3rillers. I was expecting some sort of twist involving the father (??) of Clair who we were introduced to at the beginning of the strip. The introduction of most characters seemed a little pointless. Artwork however, was awesome.

I sound pretty negative reading back - but it was still a solid prog - maybe just because we have been spoilt in recent months makes this one seem a little flat. Is it me or was there mention of the dark judges returning in 2014 aggggges ago? Where are theeeeeey? I'm impatient.

Fairly boring, like a 30 tv special of the exorcist.

Ah yeah it was all a bit familiar. Exorcism cliches etc. Although Walking Dead was the same and become something more. I'll be sticking with it as I can see the story getting epic pretty quickly - as you say, it could go anywhere at this point.

Well this was obviously an epic fail on my part as a conversation starter! :p

So who else picked up Kirkman's new series, issue 1 of Outcast?

I have to say, even with all of the hype, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It managed to set quite an uneasy and creepy tone in the double length issue. Definitely will be adding this to my pull list.

Just don't compare it and the flaws aren't as apparent. It still beats a lot of other white superhero flicks as a blockbuster.

This should have said Shite not white!

I agree with what a few people have said in that as a standalone film, its a decent watch. Compared to the comic it doesn't quite work.

I read the introduction of the Cthulhu Mythos in a similar way. They exist in a fictional sense within the IP universe. HPL wrote them as works of fiction, which where then read by Arcana, Schroder and OBO, who proceeded to make fiction reality to satisfy their hard ons for octopus porn.

Who hasn't been tempted to wank into their calamari.

Does any of this relate back to those two giant monsters boning a few progs back?

Thanks for your replies. This has made a bit more sense. Struggling with it though!

I have loved the series though, especially some spectacular artwork.

I think I'll have to go back and read the previous collected editions. I think having only been a subscriber for a few years, occasionally some of the series just don't make that much sense to me.

General / Indigo Prime!!! Spoilers!!
29 June, 2014, 08:54:05 PM
OK so I'm sorry if I'm being simple, but can someone please explain to me what the hell went down in the last installment of Indigo Prime in prog 1887?!! I've not read previous Indigo Prime stories but I thought I was following along nicely until this prog!

So.. Some questions!
1. How has Schroder managed to turn the christ anonybody into the Christhulu? Wasn't the little girl supplied by Indigo Prime? Or was this the help of Major Arcana? Is Christhulu actually real or just some monster made by the doctor shown later on?
2. What the hell is happening to Danny and elder signs, rusty locks and outer gateways?
3. Why is an egregor a bad thing and what's it actually doing?
4. What is the point of the whole plan? What were ATL doing in all this with the access codes to the data hives? Did shroder just need teleport codes to get out of there once the monster was planted?

Basically, I'm baffed..
