If you find v.2 at an affordable price, please do let me know.

Might be worth looking in the webshop in 6-8 weeks' time as it's just been sent to be reprinted.

That news has just made my day! Thank you...! :)

Now, since we're talking about reprints.... about vol.1 of Ace Trucking Co. .... ;)

QuoteCheers buddy. I'm not as familiar with Dredd as probably most of you, I only really got into it in 2012. So some of the themes I'd struggle to come up with an angle that'd make a good composition.

Not tempted to dip your toe in other waters...?

For the record, I've just added Meltdown Man, The Complete D.R. & Quinch and Zombo vol. 1 & 2 to my ever-growing collection.
Have you bought Age Of The Wolf yet?

QuoteI will keep Nemesis on my list, but will go for the complete v.1 (like to said, that way if I like it I can get vol.2 and so on. Very logical).

Good luck with that.
If you find v.2 at an affordable price, please do let me know.

Nice shout out from John Freeman - he gave me my very first commission in Doctor Who Magazine back in 1991..!

Great to see you back on the forum with a lovely bit of artwork, MrLongTheArtist..! :)

Thank you, chaps - I appreciate the kind words and input. Fair enough if you think the version with fireworks is better - it fits the brief more, so that's fine.

Loving the retro-style humour of your work, Tulio..! :)

Okay, here's my offering. I was going to use the "40 years, creep!" line, but since that's already taken, I've gone for something a little less snappy.
I've included a version with fireworks which I thought was more celebratory and more fitting for the brief, but I've also included a version without fireworks, which I personally prefer... I'll leave you guys to decide which is the better of the two...

With fireworks:

Without fireworks:

All that's left for me to do now is to wish 2000ad a very Happy Birthday!  ;)

That's just fantastic, Woolly! Great humour and absolutely lovely drawing - I agree with Colin's comment - it works perfectly well as a black and white piece. Nice work, sir..!

aaaaaand here be Dylan Teague's choice:

Quote"I'll go for Andy Lambert's "Rodice". I like the mood and the lighting. There's a nice use of texture on it too."

Ah that's brilliant - my humble thanks to Dylan and CFM...! :D

1st. Uwe de Witt - Hot Dog  Uwe, it had to be you. Not only is it fantastically drawn, but the whole story got the Uwe treatment so bonus points earned!

2nd. James Newell - Annual Text Story  Great work as ever from James, very cleverly rendered too.

3rd. amines2058 - Strontium Dog  Very striking piece, very evocative of John Hinklenton.

HM: mightybren - Hot Dog Run

Now, question is - will there be another crossover competition where the artists create a picture and the writers write a story around it..? ;)

Just a quick one from me as I haven't had much time to do anything this month.
Here's Rodice from Lobo Baggins' story...

"Glimmer Rats" was okay - a bit relentlessly grim and downbeat, and although the artwork was brilliant, I did struggle to make out what was happening in some panels. It's good, but not an instant favourite.

Hey Andy, I agree with some of your comments regarding Glimmer Rats. When I ordered it I assumed it would be one of my favorites but it doesn't quite make the top list. The art was great, but there was times I could not quite tell what was happening and had to rely on the speech bubbles to make it out. I did, however, enjoy the grim and bleakness of the book; it was short enough that there wasn't a lot of time for anything upbeat. As I mentioned before, the story ends a little abruptly and I feel it did not reach its full potential - I would like to see more and this seems more of a set up. Still, I enjoyed it and recommend it as a unique read.

I'm only a dozen pages into "Age Of The Wolf", but I'm really enjoying it so far! Werewolves running amok in the snow covered streets of apocalyptic London, under a huge, permanent moon - imagery like this is why I love 2000ad! The story isn't over-complicated and cracks along at a decent pace, and the artwork is just gorgeous!
Lovely stuff so far!

I have never heard of Age of the Wolf, but your description has caused me to want to check it out! I look forward to hearing your thoughts after reading it. I'm going to google it now...

Just finished "Age Of The Wolf" - yeah, quite enjoyed it! Not too demanding, fairly straight forward storytelling, but highly engaging. I think I preferred the first part of the book set in a snowy London, but the  other two chapters were still a good read, with a rather surprising change of events in the final part. And you get werewolf centaurs - how mental is that...?!

Very busy this month, but if I have time I'll try and squeeze something out.
