Prog / Re: Prog 1960 The Good, The Bad, The Psychotic!

Great cover - would be great to have McCarthy back in the prog.. would a Dredd be too much to ask?

Dredd was good, even though the pay off was as expected but the scene with Hershey totally throws you.

Really liked the Terror Tale, lots in there and packed a real punch.

Bad company had a rather interesting turn  but too little too late for me. Agree Boris was out of place.

Never been that into Defoe but the art is just wonderful.

All round  solid prog. Looking forward to my Kennedy wrap around for Christmas.

That's one beautiful cover - the Kennedy droid has nailed it!

I think it's the chin area and creases round the mouth that's giving off the echo of Ron Smith..?

Yeah its a great cover but the colours do look rather washed out/faded.

New Dredd tale has a good opener. Is that really Dredd? Is the beaten biker wally squad?

Defoe and Brass Sun are pretty good.

The art in the future shock is superb - more from the George droid please. The story was rather thin though.

Those Krool looked rather sweet I thought, maybe that's what they were like originally...

Good prog!

Got one!  :D

Arrived yesterday, all the way from New York - £35 well spent I think!

Not in perfect condition but pretty good nick given its age. Love those big pages!

Mine arrived and I didn't think that the covers worked well, unlike the previous lot.

Certainly agree in relation to the Devlin Waugh volume. Not read any of the stories before and it all looks intriguing with some great art.

The cover is credited to Colin Wilson, is that the fantastic Colin Wilson of Rogue Trooper and JD the mega rackets from back in the day? If it is, his style's certainly changed a bit.

I always made a point of purchasing a graphic novel or bunch of other stuff to support comic shops on FCBD.

Minus 2000AD though, I can't be arsed with Free Super Hero Comic Book Day.

Likewise here. And the last few years' signings at Forbidden Planet which have allowed FP and 2000AD to bring out star Droids, including Ron Smith and Mick McMahon, have been fantastic events.

I'm hoping that they can still get their heads together to do some similar events up and down the country for the newly instituted (by this forum) 2000AD Summer Special day.

UK comic shops have good reason to be unhappy with Diamond for making this crazy decision.

I try and go to comic shops now and again - Mega City, Gosh, Orbital - despite the savings and convenience to be had online, but have always made it to FCBD for the 2000ad. Then, like others, taken the opportunity to splurge on other stuff.

Long live 2000ad Summer Special Day 2016!

Prog / Re: PROG 1955 the all seeing eye

Seems I'm the odd one out, but I really don't like the cover. Dredd and especially the bike don't look right to me and the traffic in the background is very simplistic to my eye..

Anyway, I enjoyed the Dredd tale (although not really liking the art) it was a neat and rather sweet tale. These strips are part of what makes Dredd such a special strip.  These single episode strips can be funny, moving, whimsical etc and can be amongst the best Dredds.

Brass Sun seems to be hotting up and I even enjoyed the old funtsters.

The first two volumes of Bad Company are up there with the very best of 2000ad.  Despite the best will in the world, I'm rather baffled by this incarnation.  I like looking at the strip and I like that Bad Company is in the prog, but it should be more than that.

Pretty enjoyable prog then, but with a few niggles.

You can get these on Amazon/Ebay for just over a tenner each with the postage but I thought I'd just check to see if anyone on here had the four that they'd be willing to sell off cheaply.  Perhaps due to our constant enemy... lack of space.

Superb Cover and Total War story - feel rather like Proudhuff on the rest.

Although I did like the bit on 2000ad/Vertigo contributing artists.

No probs Tordel - rather liked the 'cold dead hands' quote.

That's where my copy will remain once I've tracked one down!

Yes, it's the page size I'm after - the two collected short stories albums I've got show the art off beautifully.

I've seen a few but as Spikes says its hard to find a reasonably priced  one in decent condition.

The hunt continues..

Maybe I'm also rather gauche but I quite like your idea demos..

I'd have preferred it with the caption too - didn't stop me buying it anyway of course!
