Is there a thread for the 2000AD collection? I can't see one.
Yes - if it ever happens.

Says on the wiki that Judge Child will be released in August. Can't see it on Hachette's webpage. Anyone who knows where that came from?
Way back in 2015 I asked on the FB page when we would be seeing Judge Child and City Of The Damned. August 2017 seemed a long way off then.

More Dredd for your Cred! Due to high customer demand, the Judge Dredd: The Mega Collection series from Hachette Partworks is to be extended by an additional ten issues!

Already a hit with readers across the country, The Mega Collection has brought together some of the best stories from the four decades of the UK's most famous comic book character.

The ten-issue continuation will allow the collection to include more recent stories as well as classics readers have been clamouring to see reprinted in the deluxe hardcover series.

Every fortnight, subscribers have watched the books' spines form a fascinating rogues' gallery by artist Patrick Goddard and colourist Dylan Teague, showing classic characters from 40 years of Judge Dredd – and the continuation will add more creeps and crime-busters from the mean streets of Mega-City One!

Editor of 2000 AD and The Mega Collection, Matt Smith, said: "As The Mega Collection has been published over the past two years, the response has been brilliant and it's been great to see readers speculating about what stories will be included. It's thanks to the fans that this series has been such a success, so this gives us the chance to round up not just some of the most iconic stories in Dredd's history they've been calling for but also give newer fans the chance to savour some of the modern classics from the past decade."

And current subscribers need not worry – the continuation will automatically follow on with their existing subscription!

Subscribers should contact Hachette Partworks customer services on 0333 300 1510 or judgedredd@jacklinservice.com for information about their subscription.

Interesting to see the FB mods have now removed the post referring to a planned extension. I expect it will still happen, they just needed to contain the conversation. Over on the Transformers Collection page the mods have also been removing some less happy comments as well.

*Edit: the below link still seems to work, but the post has been hidden.

Ah, yes:
QuotePlease be advised that the series has been extended to a planned number of 90 issues however the titles have not yet been released.

Honestly, this is something that should really be communicated to subscribers, who plonked down money on the basis of a finite collection of 80 books.

- they release all of the originally planned volumes first and the additional volumes are just that - additional

I heard tell of Marvel collection subscribers for whom the first they heard of the extension was getting the newer books before the original run was complete, so that could well happen here.

- they don't impact on the planned 2000AD collection (apart from material planned for that turning up here instead)

Would a 2000AD collection be considered adequate if it didn't include Dredd at all? I certainly wouldn't mind if they went that route myself but for the casual reader it might stand out?

Aw, not really the news I was hoping for. After three years I'm more interested in jumping onto the 2000AD collection. If they start seeding 81-90 into the last months of 2017 I will cancel and buy the missing books direct I think.

I know! Nobody gets to enjoy Kenny Who? - but someone's gone to the trouble to scan and prep Sleeze N Ryder for a reprint?!
I'm still hoping the omissions from the JDMC will be covered in the 2000AD Ultimate Collection. Like, a first year of Dredd or whatever. Robot Wars.

Interesting, since that skips over Roadhouse and Tax Dodge, along with a couple of other tales. I'm still very tempted by this collection if it happens, but wondering how 'complete' certain series are going to be (rather than having two copies of Strontium Dog, etc., on the creaking living room shelves.
I seriously doubt it's going to be Complete for each character. Sounds like they have cherry-picked a SD jumping on point. There will be even more questions for the FB page with this collection than with the JDMC!

Loved the Future Shock - the artist struck me as a mid period Stuart Immonen crossed with modern Simon Coleby. Which is a good thing! More from this droid please

Not familiar with Immonen, but I was thinking Coleby too.
Stuart Immonen is a Marvel Exclusive artist whose best work was with Warren Ellis on Nextwave Agents Of HATE. He recently did Empress with Mark Millar as well as a run on Star Wars.

It's 's not clear on the Wikipedia page where the source of stating the next Missionary Man issue is Bad Moon Rising came from, so I guess it will be Treasure of the Sierra Murder, meaning we'll be getting the stories in reverse order. Oh well.

There were <ref> posts on each of the listings until recently when someone decided they weren't needed anymore  ::)

Wow... I just read Armitage: Day Of The Dead (the main story). What a load of cack. Confusing, meandering and boring. The art is pretty good but it reminds me why I and many others didn't really like 2000AD in the 90s

It wasn't in 2000AD!  And I thought (and still think) City of the Dead is one of the better uses of the Dreddworld idea. Can be a bit painful at timeswatching Gillespie learning his craft, but there are moments of greatness, and at least he goes all-out avoiding the brown murk. I actually have more of a problem with the middle stories in the volume, which don't seem to make a lot of sense.

Just about made it through the second major story in the book last night. Pretty dull stuff I'm afraid.
