The Jungle Book is great, darker than the original cartoon although still a Disney production. Mowgli, GCI and voice cast are all brilliant. Two thumbs up from me.

The Facebook page has posted the cover for issue 37, Doomsday for Mega-City One. Credited are John Wagner, Carlos Ezquerra. Colin Wilson, John Burns, Andrew Currie, Mike Collins. Steve Tappin and Cam Kennedy. I guess then that the stories will be:

Bad Frendz
Worst of Frendz
The Scorpion Dance
The Contract
The Narcos Connection
Doomsday
Volt Face
The Cal Legacy

Any thoughts?

Great collection of stories in Judge Death Lives, showcasing both the horror and humour detailed in Molch-R's article. Although the article focusses on Death specifically, I'll chuck my penneth in to add that Fear, Fire and Mortis' appearance in Day of Chaos felt to me like pantomime villains against the darker backdrop of the main event.

Interesting to compare Greg Staples' art on Dead Reckoning with Dark Justice - vive la difference, as Death says. DR reminded me of John Hicklenton's work at times, which prompted a thought - if Hicklenton had drawn Death, what terrible wonders would we have seen? RIP.

The Pit started as I tuned out for my wilderness years, for reasons lost in the mists of time. It's a great series of stories, and as Matt Smith says in the intro, ushering in modern-day Dredd. Personally, and this isn't to detract from the other artists, I think I'd have enjoyed it even more if Carlos had drawn the whole thing - he captures the gritty atmosphere from the off. It's all great stuff though.

The Facebook page has announced issue 36, out 25th May in the UK, as The Life and Crimes of PJ Maybe. A really strong run of issues going on here.

No it's not, it's a thing of absolute beauty. After 19+ years in the wilderness I couldn't have asked for anything better.

Does anyone know whether this collection will include Titan/Enceladus?  Thinking of buying the TPB but won't if it'll be one of the volumes in the collection.

Thanks

Not all the creators are always listed on the covers, for example last issue Klegg Hai! As John Wagner has had plenty of cover credits to date and Ron Smith hasn't, that could explain things?

Absolutely, it's great - and another question coming up!

The Facebook page has announced issue 35 as Missionary Man: Goin' South. Artists credited on the cover include Ron Smith, but I'm not aware of any MM stories drawn by Ron. Any ideas?

Aha! Here you go, I found the entry - http://heroesof2000ad.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/interlude-dreddcount-part-2_29.html

Wow, thanks for that, what a great, and exhaustive, list. I didn't figure on Ian Gibson featuring as high, but I think I always associated him more with Halo Jones and Robo-Hunter more than Dredd. But he did draw a lot of the early stuff. Erroneous on my part.

Looking forward to The Taxidermist volume.

Loved re-reading Necropolis, but I gorged on it and now can't wait for The Pit. Great article by Molch-R too.

Interesting to hear John Wagner remark on the Thrill-cast how the story he likes the most out of this arc is The Dead Man - I can see why, building atmosphere and portent around an unknown character until the big reveal.

A thought occurred to me while reading - who's drawn the most pages of Dredd? Carlos? Ron Smith? Henry Flint? Any ideas?

Great third part, florix grabundae to all involved. I'm a fan of Michael Connelly too, nice to know I'm in good company  :)
