Announcements / Re: 3A Toys/Rebellion Press Release

I'm pleased to hear its working JB, had a flap on one of mine but it was just a loose connection on one of the batteries. Sweating bullets for a mo tho !

I want 3A to be on a par with Mezco in terms of quality, it might be wishful thinking but I'll support them as much as possible, who else out there would have the balls to make Fish or Sam ??

I'm not trying to rain on 3A, I'm hugely grateful to see these toys at all but I'm honest when things dont work. Its just unfortunate that Mezco came first and their Dredd is a stonking figure that poses beautifully and takes any/all abuse on the chin

I think any 3A QC issues will be designed out and 3A will reward us with a 2000ad line to be truly proud of. Its an ongoing process though, Sam and Death were first and had problems. Credit to them for engaging and keeping us in the loop, I dont mind waiting at all if they give us a Dredd on par with Mezco but in 3A style.

Tharg (bless him) what can I say thats not already been done to death. I've gone back and forth several times but I just cant pull the trigger on one. Not a Tharg hater exactly I just dont see much excitement from a Tharg figure. Maybe if I had a Thrill Sucker infestation !!

Have you seen how tight some of those lady Judges wear it?

Interesting point, wonder how they'll do Hershey ! I bought Mezco's SDCC Cap with the Lawmaster and they have done an amazing job with the uniform. Skin tight but still offers fantastic articulation. Take note 3A ;)

How is the uniform degrading? You mean the faux fabric or the plastic bits?

Just the uniform itself, bar the belt the plastic bits n bobs are still spot on.

Overuse I guess, its just looking pretty tired now, worst around the waist where the belt snapped off and left a big hole. It also has fine dust around some seams which Gregory said was probably the paint weathering rubbing off.

I dont treat them roughly but I pushed the artic too far, Death was the first figure I'd bought from 3A and I posed it like I did Mezco Dredd, It didnt like it. Early design tho and I'm sure Dredd onwards the quality will improve. Might be too late for the other Dark Judges but I'll treat those ones with kid gloves.

I'm happy to wait until they get it as good as it can be. We'll be seeing this body re-used a lot on future characters so its gotta be right.

We know 3A will get the aesthetics spot on but it needs to be close to Mezco's in terms of articulation and durability to really hit the spot. Death was a looker but my regular version has pretty much disintegrated from posing. Leg pops off, one arm too, both feet fall out of the peg holes, belt buckle has cracked both sides and is now a loose skull held in with blu-tac. Uniform degrading too, it kinda suits him but thats not the point. I've barely touched the c/b one for fear of the same thing happening. Its still a fantastic figure, dont get me wrong but Dredd needs to be a big improvement.

Preview pics promised so much but that rad cloak is just a hard look to pull off. If your prepared to spend 10 minutes adding creases its a bit better but its a pain.

I appreciate its supposed to keep him covered up but it really restrict the arms too. Holding the shotty in both hands can be a 5 minute fiddle, hand falls off, clip falls out....AGAIN  Even with blu-tac that thing has a mind of its own. Anyway, its such a beautiful uniform its a shame not to have it on show  ;)

What do you guys think of the new collar and shorter zip on SDCC Dredd ?

'Pete Wells block' diorama for those bikes ? Some talented folk around making professional looking pieces, on my list of things to look at at some point, really sets them off. Mezco's promo pics had an Otto Sump poster on the wall which I thought was cool.

Sorry to hear its in Customs JB, really should be a law against it on toys.

I sent Mezco that photo along with my query on the paint app but I didnt get much of a response other than saying it wasnt the usual paint app. I didnt complain about the seat, I just wondered why the paint was so different to the others. Hand painted would have been a logical answer.

Its no biggie, my toys lose paint over time anyway cos I cant leave them alone. I know others like to keep them perfect which is why I posted a headsup, hopefully it was useful to someone.

As far as what its worth for the quality. Better paint on the seat would have been nice for sure but its not a killer for me as I re-pose and re-arrange my stuff all the time. I accept that joints wear and paint rubs off if you play with adult collectibles. I'm a big kid so its par for the course. Imagine the carnage with my 3A figs  :o >:D

Gratz Inkymonkey its a beaut.

Word of warning tho, mine have already lost paint from the seat from a one time sitting for a pic. I asked Mez if these 50 were hand painted as they look very different to the others. All they would say is that yes a different paint app was used. Black and blue bike have been used a lot with no issues but this one needs kid gloves if you want to keep it pristine.

Second pic just for laughs :)
