Did any of those have the premise 'Dredd goes on a quest to kill supernatural beings' that are destroying the world'. 'Cos this one does, and that's the setup you were speculating about Wagner writing.

Relax,  I'm not knocking Wagner, who could!, I'm just noting that this is the type of tale he has on occasion got bored of and knocked out a quick wrap-up for. In other words,  I don't see Wagner being particularly interested in doing much with this plot.

And the reference to going too far and ending the world was indeed about Day of Chaos.

Yes, but I am looking to Wagner's mega epics in general & plotting. He is a better writer now than he was then with those epics that this awful one is referencing. Maybe that's the problem for me, things like The Cursed Earth & The Judge Child Quest are fun in a nostalgic way but I prefer a bit more depth to my stories now. I just don't care about anything that is happening in End of Days because it feels like there are no real consequences, 2 dimensional bland characters & now an old character being dragged up...again. I wonder if this has been rushed out due to current circumstances?

God this is dreadful, imagine what Wagner could have done with such an interesting premise.

If history is any guide, he'd have been saddled with a different artist every week, rapidly got bored and wrapped it up with some kind of non-sequitor. Or maybe just pushed a bit too far and actually ended the world, without telling Tharg in advance. So on balance, I'm almost glad this one is in other hands!

If it was just the second appearance, that would be one thing, but with the Action Special, thats a third appearance this year.

Yep desperate stuff. & what is the point of Ichabod Azrael being in it? In fact all the supporting characters are pretty pointless. God this is dreadful, imagine what Wagner could have done with such an interesting premise.

Dredd End of Days has now officially jumped the shark or should that be [spoiler]jumped the bear[/spoiler]. I'm an infrequent reader of the prog, & I mainly read it for Dredd but now I don't feel that bothered with continuing, this is the worst Dredd story I have read in years. I can't believe that Rob Williams wrote this, its just a bunch of things happening with little depth or sense of threat. If we'd seen a backstory to these 'four horsemen' maybe in a prologue story? Or just something to give a bit of weight to events. At least the artwork is good, even though that final panel is groan inducing it looks great.

Still not getting into this Dredd epic at all. I just don't really care what happens to be honest. In fact so far its the worst Dredd epic I can recall reading.

ECBT2K baffles me  - I was an interested listener to begin with, more for Rich than the Mrs Browns Boys fellow who seemed very sure of his opinions and how right they all were.  Once Rich went, it became an intolerable downer to listen to.  I tried a podcast thing the other day and I presumed they were making some kind of sneery joke about affirmative action as their opening gambit, so that one didnt get far.  compare and contrast with Space Spinner or MCBC where they focus on the positive, and are happy to express their delight and disappointments n equal measure, annd I canp;t see who gets enjoyment listening to fellow "fans" pissing on the thing they still like enough to buy (if they aren't current readers, then the psychology boggles).

I can find a good chunk, perhaps more than I'd like, of current 2K to be personally underwhelming, and there is no harm in expressing that (God knows I'm not averse to pointing out why, for example, I have struggled with Rob Williams Dredds).  But to dedicate you efforts to a whole show that seems designed to undermine the thing it is about?  Curious behaviour!

Yep, I listened to a few but its just so mean-spirited. Same type of 'fan' as a lot of those Doctor Who fans who claim they are 'true fans'.

Nah, that would just have been "let's do Trifecta again." .

As opposed to 'let's do the Dark Judges again, but with less personality'? It's not the twist I'm after, I'm just casting about for something to give this story substance, beyond the art.  Maybe integrating Ichabod properly could have been it.

Yeah it needs something especially as we are on part 6 already. Still wondering why Ichabod is even in the story. Unless he will end up being one of the four?

This is what I was thinking, it's a bit strange as Rob Williams usually spends a while building back stories to his Characters before they dissappear (Think Judge Sam)

I was waiting for some big reveal in this weeks story for the baddie... but there wasn't anything really. It's a great concept that maybe we could have had a few prologue tales to build up the narrative.

Speaking of big reveals, that's not Dredd on the cover, it's a set of stage curtains... that or the old boy has put a bit of timber on!

Yes I know Williams has said he wanted to make an old school epic like The Cursed Earth or The Judge Child stories but, & I don't mean to be patronising, there's something unsophisticated about End of Days. It feels like a first draft script with the outline of an idea but lacking substance. Maybe a prologue story would have helped like Block Mania leading into The Apocalypse War.  We could have had an Ichabod Azrael story that we only realise at the end is a prologue to End of Days.

What vile behaviour. I do remember a few years ago a recurring theme on the night bus, men seeking out women sat on their own & propositioning them as well as manhandling them!
