Interesting to learn that i was John Watkiss who was supposed to double on H20. The two styles would really jar. John Watkiss is very much of the John Burns school of illustration.

Personally one of the strongest things about H20 was the single artist doing the whole thing.

I adore Alan Davis' work, he is one of only about three creators by whom I would buy everything, if I could.

Logan: Does it matter if you survive? I think not eh?:)

Cover: I liked it, I think it will stand out on a crowded shelf, which is what it is for.

The Tag-line reminded me of the mighty Rays organ as well. Not a bad thing though!

Which reinds me, HEY BOU!, have you ever wanted to gaze upon Thargs organ with "shock and awe"?! :P

3 strips works only for 'event' progs, other than that it should be five per week.

Dredd: Solid storytelling and a lovely job by Adlard. His work has changed a lot since I last saw him, it seems more 'full' now, whereas it used to seem scratchy.

Slaine: I thought something was funny when the same text appeared on consecutive pages. Blah Blah Langley ooooh! I thought the 'Golamh' character was really nicely designed.

Input: John Keane, "(2000AD) has had its ups and downs but has never bowed to the whims of fashion". Okaay, what about 'rave' Tharg or the men in black. Fashion happens, not always good.

Poster: Okay, I suppose. Get some awareness of he game going n all that.

Stront: Lovely nod to the original idea, that must make him soo happy (lucky drokker) Fantastic story, lovely art. 'Nuff said.

Overall: I hope this increases the number of squaxx appreciably. 2000 really is sailing high at the moment, It would be a shame for the world not to notice.

Good stuff, liked some of the imagery immensely. Thought Dredd was  bit action Hero though. Liked the side scenes with ordinary cits. Really enjoyed it and would've been happy if I'd had to pay.

Sorry for the brevity, but I'm going out in 5 mins

Ever since the monarchs admssion of its choice of funeral tunage, I cant watch an emotional scene on TV without....

"oohee, chirpy chirpy, cheep cheep" and on and on; running through my head and ruining it.

That sounds like it could work. I haven't seen 'white men cant jump', but the visual chemistry of Harrelson/Snipes is good.

Cheer-up Dounreay,
no need to be gloom-ay.

In three short progs,
We thrill power hogs,
will once more have back Johnney!

Yes, he's still dead, the story said,
he was killed by a flyin' thingy;

"But at least he's here" Dr Bob can cheer,
So lets not get too whingey.

I, for one, think the progs still fun,
Ye highland party pooper!

I'll bet you sneak back to read next week,
So don't mess with the Rogue Trooper!

Rotts.

Please forgive the appalling rhymes, and I only caled you a pooper to get the trooper in:)

William H Macy is superb, one of the best actors around. I hae yet to see a performance from him where he isn't convincing (even Jurrassic park III).

One I forgot: The Punisher! maybe this should be on the TIKASBILA thread? I really enjoyed that, but then again I didn't expect it to be any good, so I was happy to enjoy it.

The Rocketeer was superb, IMHO it was as close to Dave Stevens' idea as possible in hollywood. Of course I have NO IDEA what Stevens thought of it, and my set of the comics was 'borrowed' years ago.

I really liked Mystery Men, I thought the treatment of 'superheroes' in that film was brilliantly hilarious.

Mind you, I quite liked 'that' film, once I got over the fact it was never going o be done right. I remember seeing the trailer for the first time and was so excited I cant even remember what the film I saw was now.

Drifting slightly, I saw ghost world last week and loved it, but the last Dan Clowes work I managed to get was the Lloyd Llewelyn collection; so I have no way of gauging the success of transferring from comix to screen.

Totally off the topic, am I right in that the guy who hangs in the shop in Ghost world is the same actor, doing the same character, in the videos for the Red Hot Chilli Peppers'?

Off Topic / Re: Daredevil DVD

I fianally saw this the other night. Bloody awful overall. There are some lovely moments, but they are buried in the rubbish.

The worst thing was the wooden performance by Affleck, though Bullseye was so over the top that is wasn't even Ham. Farrel may have had a laugh doing the part, but you'd never know.

Glad it wasn't my DVD.

I subbed last Xmas after something vaguely similar. Not regretted it at all. Go on, you know it makes sense.

Awww fellas, Congrats to you both. Really heartfelt man!

Guess this means no follow-up to Snow/Tiger; or was one in the bag ready to go....?

Jock, get some cover gigs, look at Bolland; he does nowt else and he is SO well regarded. You havea nifty sense of design and an eye for colour (what is the other one for again...) so you should stand out on the shelves.

Then again I haven't been in a proper comic shop for years so what would I know.

See ya.
