Having a 'kiddie' Dredd appear in the Sonic comic would have been good marketing.

However would it have been good for the character?

However, David Bishop hired some really poor artists to imitate the mighty McMahon look on a couple of stories.

Of course when I say imitate I mean rip off wholesale!

Interesting to see how much early Jim Murray looks like Sam Kieth art.

Just got hold of the 1st twelve of these, pretty poor overall but there are some nice touches and the Simon Fraser art is a treat.

Let me tell you all a story of a man named Jed,
A poor ole mountaineer, barely kept his family fed;
Then one day he was shootin' at some food,
An' up from the ground came a bubblin' crude.

Oil that is,
Black Gold,
Texas tea.

The rest goes on....

When I was a kid I LOVED the beverley Hillbillies.

Cover: Nice

JD: Lovely Burns art. I agree with some of the negatives ('70s styling and all) but he has a wonderful sense of pace and skill. Cracking story too.

PI: not really bothered by this. Not as bad as some things but it could have been a Telguuth tale without much monkey work.

SDex: really enjoyed this. I get the impression this is the start of something to build on in the future. Espesh as this is a one-part tale. Andy Clarke helps though.

lobster: Sorry Spurioso, I've really enjoyed this story but the escape didn't work for me. Still enjoying it though.

Rogue: Why didn't Tharg wait till Staz cold draw the whole thing? It really spoils it when a story as 'short' as his has a multiple artist job. I'm really moaning about Mike Collins though (sorry but his style doesn't work for me).

Overall: nice.

You aren't on your own UKD. I enjoyed them too. At the end of the day, Lucas is trying to tell an adventure story, not the be all and end all in films, an adventure story.

He needs to ignore the hordes of anally (SP?) obsessed fans who keep trying to make the story into more than it was intended to be.

The worst thing he could do would be to put the ewoks in again, they WERE crap!

I'm with PVS and Mrs Diaz' little boy here. Rogue is fine by me.

My personal fave was 'just another day' with the beautiful art by 'I CAN'T REMEMBER' AAARRRGGGHHH!

'Don't be naughty, norty!'

I love Kid Kneeble too.

Can anyone remember whether or not Styx was a mutie? And if so, how.

In Shicklegruber they just say he's hard. I suppose i've just answered myself haven't I?

That 'hardness' explains how he can punch holes in walls whilst carrying genocidal maniacs.

D'oh!

I'd buy that that for a dollar!

Espesh as I've not collected them all, so I have a relatively small axe to grind with faves.

Is the Jonathon Morris who is writing for Big finish the same as the guy from 'night fever' and 'bread'?

I actually think a Sin/Dex would be good, it would be suited to the style of patter they employ.
