IIRC he didn't kill it, he just put its head(s) in a bowl which he abandoned at the end of te story.

Looking forward to more pirate action.

"Great blistering arses!" Lets hope for a topper for that one.

I'm with you there Rac, the way Sirius died was so much more realistic than many of the other 'danger' moments in the book, that it worked marvellously.

Neville Longbottom is one of the books more tragic characters, so I'm glad that you know who 'chose' Potter to complete the prophesy (Did I read that right? I am sure that Ddore told Harry that it was YKH who settled the fate of the child in the prophesy.)

I liked the explanation of why Potter has to go to the Dursleys every summer, it makes sense to me.

On the film for Azkaban: does anybody know who is playing Lupin?

Finished it his morning, had to pry it out of teen-rotts' fingers.

Not bad at all. In places it seemed a little 'forced' (around the mnistry hearing) but I really enjoyed it. Sad to lose Sirius, esp as it means Gary Oldman wont get as much out of the series as other actors. BTW I thought Robert Carlisle would have made an excellent Sirius.

Dumbledore gets some wonderful scenes, as does Snape.

The best supporting characters are, once again, the Weasley twins. I laughed out loud for them.

I only hope we aren't going to have to wait two years to discover Harrys exam grades.

Been wondering when this would make its presence 'felt'.

Nice piece, just about the right length.

the visuals certainly went down well in my opinion.

Dredd may have worn unusual boots but he was hard enough to bring the story to a climax without peaking too early.

Liked this a lot, funny and smutty; well worth the efforts of all involved.

It is on PVS's Amageddon thread.

Nothing lewd, honest.

I bet that post will have 'em confused in no time.

How the heck can we get from reports to Warhammer to Christan doomsday porn?

I love this board!

Sorry Gordon, you mean the NATIONAL indoor arena, and the very place where I watched my lad take part in a Blues Brothers tribute. He made a passable Elwood in my eyes.

You are right about the Gladiators though!

He's working on me takng him to the 'event' AHEM at the wherever it is in B'ham in September.

He even agreed to pay for his own ticket!

Any chance of Dreddcon being moved to the Midlands in September so I dont have to go?

I must say that I hav nowt against Warhammer in general; I just dont find it 'that' special.

Grennie: He hasn't discovered the books yet, he's too busy gettng Space Wolves and Dark Eldar goodies.

Our eldest sprog should be getting his soon.

Looks promising, but I wish the wife hadn't come up with the idea of cash for grades.

The little monkey is after ?16 from his last report card!

He'll only waste it on Warhammer, I said. Can't he by comics like me?

I've read the first of the left behind books. As far as speculative fiction go I thought it was enjoyable enough.

BUT

It is written with a specific audience in mind, Christians. And it places the anti-christ in Europe, not the White house where he lives these days.

The biggest compliment I can gve the Potter books is the encouragement of fantasy fiction reading it has heralded. They are good books, as well. Just not the best books.

I've recently been beaten about the head by my pre-teen squaxx to read the ARTEMIS FOWL books.

Cracking (if a little simplistic to a thirty-something) plots and some real laughs.

Heartily recommend them all.

And the Alex Rider teen-spy books too. Excellent yong Bond style stuff. All nonsense but great fun all the same.
