Classifieds / Clear out of 2000ad Graphic Novels
15 May, 2017, 12:29:28 PM
Hi folks,

I'm planning to go travelling in the future, and I can't carry my comic collection around the world. I'm also not into the idea of paying to store items I'm not using.

I have a large number of 2000ad Graphic Novels which I'm putting up for sale on eBay over the coming months. A lot of old Titan editions and a few more recent ones as well. It's going to take me a while to get everything listed on eBay, so I'll keep this thread updated as I post more.

You can see everything on sale here...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/meache_9/m.html?item=222511167752&ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

Currently on sale are...
The Complete DR and Quinch
Nikolai Dante - The Romanov Dynasty
Killing Time featuring Winword and Cord
Durham Red - The Scarlett Cantos
Slaine - Demon Killer
Strontium Dog - Portrait of a Mutant
Batman / Judge Dredd - Die Laughing (issue 1 and 2 of the original comics, not a trade)
The ABC Warriors - The Black Hole
Slaine The Horned God - Volume 2

All in very good condition. They've been looked after and cared for over the years. I'm kinda heartbroken to let some of these go, I had second thoughts about a few of them last night as they are awesome and the artwork is stunning! I'm hoping they all go to good homes :)

There's a lot more coming too, watch this thread!

Cheers,
Bren

Some very nice responses to the theme this month :)

Here's my entry. Trying out the Mischief app on my lunch break, after hearing about on the Dave Kendall "From the Drawing Board" youtube video. Loving that series on YouTube right now!

Mischief is free and worth a look, although trying the free version has just convinced me I need to buy the full version. https://www.madewithmischief.com/

I'd be up for this, but I'm already collaborating on another project which is turning out to be very enjoyable :) another time perhaps.

I did get onto collaborating through this current project via this forum, so fishing here does work. Good luck!

I disagree, it captures eveything I  love about 2000ad :) the humour and the attitude. Great work!

Eamonn I loved your short story by the way. I've had that image in my head for about a month, since I first read it. Very inspiring :)
It means a lot that you like my interpretation of it, as rough as it is :) thanks man!

Thanks Eamonn 🙂

I think Uwe De Witt nailed it. Great art and very nice storytelling. I love how the tension builds towards the end. How come we don't see your work in the Prog?

Here's my entry. I'm not satisfied with my execution of this, I was working quickly and should have done some better planning. I learned from it though, so all good :)

Likewise, I have a rough sketch I'm looking to refine this weekend. This month has been hard, really busy and motivation while living in the cold and dark has been a struggle  :P

30 quid for a t-shirt is a bit steep, and the print jobs on these don't look great. I usually pay no more than a tenner for a t-shirt online from site like Design By Humans, which are usually great quality and have some awesome illustrations.
Considering the competition I think £30 is expensive. Considering I can print my own for a tenner if I really want to...

Nice to see the whole thing Brian! Thanks for sharing.

This is beautiful and impressive work, I love the facial expressions and characterisation.  Also the sense of detail is amazing, especially in the last two pages like Darren said.  How you've kept the figure work consistent and in perspective for chaotic scenes like that is amazing! I know that's hard to do.

I'll also add that good figure drawing is incredibly difficult! My personal focus right now is mostly figure drawing and anatomy, and it's a long journey.
Posing figures naturally is a discipline in itself, and I'm always amazed at how the pro's make it seem so simple. I actually think you're figure drawing is very good, and more importantly consistent.
