Since the shops are out of WOW (from the makers of BOING I presume), I googled synonyms we could use here, I think they all apply! Synonyms:hooray, yippee, excellent, lovely, happily, good for/on someone, hallelujah, good, thank goodness/heaven(s)

So good on you Trooper, excellent work, those are lovely!

A message from Kenneth Niemand from his twitter account:

Special thanks to the good people of the 2000AD forum, who voted A Penitent Man (with @JumbleCashback) as Best Dredd story of 2021, and Megatropolis (with @MrMacoubre) as Best Megazine story.

Cool! A shoutout to the forum. Voted for both of these. Great year for Niemand.

3. Stainless Steel Rat - Deluxe Edition - I bought this for the Ezquerra art was pleasantly surprised by the fun story too. Especially enjoyed 'Saves the World'', it really picks up then.

Interesting, as that's my least favourite of the three diGriz adaptations!

Yeah, I found the first story a little repetitive as Jim flip-flopped back and forth a bit, and it felt very compressed, like there was too much story they wanted included but the ideas didn't have time to breathe. I felt that Saves the World (although anticlimactic) held my attention better and I'm a sucker for time travel. TBH I haven't finished For President yet, but really liking it so far!

86ers. When I was first getting into 2000AD several years ago I was pursuing anything with Rogue Trooper and got the 86ers TPB. I really enjoyed it and this reminds me it needs a reread.

I appreciate all the comments/feedback regarding the DC Dredd series...although I'm game for all most things Dredd, I'll pass on this one (I also skipped Heavy Metal Dredd, based on helpful forum feedback).

1. Judge Dredd: Case Files 36 - The Case Files are truly the highlight of my reading year any time they come out. Any of the Case Files could have taken my #1 slot.

2. Essential Judge Dredd: Origins - I hadn't read Origins before, loved it! I've read the Apocalypse War a few times before, so I'll go with Origins for the Essential slot.

3. Stainless Steel Rat - Deluxe Edition - I bought this for the Ezquerra art was pleasantly surprised by the fun story too. Especially enjoyed 'Saves the World'', it really picks up then.

HM:  Major Eazy: Volume One The Italian Campaign - Fantastic art but I found the stories a little monotonous. Still, a fun series and looking forward to the next volume.

So many great covers, I love a bunch equally. Here were my favorites at a glance.

1. 2216 - This Simpson cover has a cool Dead Man / Western vibe that I really like.
2. 2231 - Another classic Robinson Dredd cover.
3. 2225 - This is a cover that makes me want to buy an issue to see the story inside, Foster is fantastic.

HM: 2221 - Love this Ezquerra homage by Holden!

1. 432 - Amazing that we still get these incredible Robinson covers on the Meg and Progs.
2. 438 - Really like the stub gun and MC1 details.
3. 428 - Love the creep perspective on this one.

HM: 437 - Everything MacNeil is gold!

1. Jaegir
2. Hershey
3. Proteus Vex

I'd like more adventures from the world of Rogue Trooper, cant go wrong with future war IMO. Hopefully other Rogue stories that haven't been get collected too (i.e. Hunted).

Was Legends of the Law any good? I've only read the first story arc (which was OK) but didn't continue reading further knowing Wagner wasn't writing. These show up cheap in dollar bins at shops and conventions but I've not sought them out.

Thanks for the entries all, lots of great stuff. Just catching up on most now, really enjoying PJ's colouring page, Colin's classic Calvin & Hobbes entry, Alex's Christmas prog rundown, and Trooper's awesome ornaments etc. All great, like Jim's lettering too! Great job everyone. Merry Christmas (from Canada) all!
