Inspired by the chat on episode 123 ( https://megacitybookclub.blogspot.com/2020/06/123-absalom-terminal-diagnosis.html ) about Tiernen Trevallion I had a rummage in the blog cave to see what I could find...part 1 of what I found is here...

On episode #113 Droid James Peaty was on talking 'Skreemer' - if you like James's work then you might be interested to know that I've updated my guide to his very early professional work on 'Warhammer comic' and 'Inferno' magazine here

Keep up the good work Eamonn!

If (like me) you like old comic convention programmes then I really recommend looking out for the 'Strips 78' one, I've looked at it on my blog today, particularly highlighting content by renowned 2000AD artists (Gibbons, McMahon, O'Neill, Ranson, Bolland)

Cheers!

My continuing look at UK comic conventions reaches the Highlands today with a gallery from the Hi-Ex! convention. Judge Dredd features on the covers and there's even a sketchbook - something for everyone!

If you're into Warhammer (40k) then you might be aware of early '00s text & comic magazine 'Inferno' - some great covers by 2000AD alumni (Clint Langley, Kev Walker & Greg Staples)

cheers!

The portfolio was in addition to the convention booklets - I'm sure I've looked those booklets on the blog, I'll try and find a link

General / UKCAC 1986 portfolio - Nemesis and others
14 July, 2020, 06:55:30 AM
Over on my blog I've run a few posts recently on the UKCAC 1986 portfolio that features art by a number of British comics creators...

https://boysadventurecomics.blogspot.com/2020/07/ukcac-1986-portfolio-part-3-of-3.html

In today's post there's a Bryan Talbot 'Nemesis' image and Jim Baikie and Cam Kennedy also contribute - and I just wonder if their images are of 2000AD characters or not? Any advice gratefully received.

cheers - will have a look at that proof

cheers man!

I used to get Comics International back in the day and, on occasion, find my back issues really useful. It took me a while to fill in the gaps in my collection of it, but yeah every time I go back and look for something in them I get distracted by an old project or comic that I go 'wow - I'd forgotten about that'

General / Alan Davis DR & Quinch 'christmas cards'
08 July, 2020, 06:55:35 AM
A back issue of Comics international from late 2003 has alerted me to the presence of 4 Alan Davis images of DR & Quinch that were included in a deck of cards produced to support the 2003 London comic festival.

If anyone has more images from that deck of cards (or images from the festival itself) I'd love to see 'em - as ever I'll collect all the images in one post on my blog
