Also in Egypt - the parents of those children run a stall on a main road - THOSE CHILDREN SHOULD KNOW TO WATCH FOR TRAFFIC AND SO SHOULD THEIR PARENTS.
I totally missed the cameo - not spoilering that in case other people want to catch it to. When does it happen?

Omg how could I forget about the
sassy black child and WW as saviour of shopping malls and consistent consumerism?
And then the final Christmas market scene ...
where she meets the guy who Steve was possessing and he's wearing the outfit that Diana wanted Steve to wear but he thought it was stupid but it's exact way that she styled him, oh I guess it's just meant to be !!!! Vomit.
Finally saw this last night, was aware it was getting massively varying views so had very little in the way of expectations.

Opening scene was incredible - maybe the highlight of the movie but the rest ...
Hmmm ...  Wonder Woman falls in the love with the first man she sees and when he dies she spends the next 70 years pining away for him .. not one but TWO scenes where she rescues children (yeah we get it she's one of the good guys) ... no explanation as to how Steve ended up in someone else's body ... why was Max Lord granting *every* wish and not just the ones that benefitted him ...  Barbara and Diana have ONE lunch together and are suddenly best friends ... Barbara turns into Cheetah with almost zero foreshadowing ... the Golden armour - looked very cool  but ultimately usesless as it gets trashed during the first fight ... also did you know there's nothing sadder in this world than a woman having dinner alone?
Also she kills zero men in this one so some forum members may be happy to know this

Thank you Smith - is chronology important?

Very limited selection in my local bookshop (I had a voucher) but I managed to get The Founding (and Malleus) - they didn't have the other two.

Thank you, this is perfect.

Someone else recommended Gaunt's Ghosts but I mistakenly thought it was a standalone book; I'll look forward to getting stuck in.

Let us know how you get on!

I only ask because the show (books) are lauded for their true to life physics and yet both Amos and Holden not only keep their gainz but increase their gainz in space .. I guess they just need to shoot a scene in the Roci's as yet unseen onboard gym.

Yes, exactly. You could argue that he's amoral but he does seem to care about what's right / good and wrong / bad. He just can't tell the difference between what needs to be done and the right thing to do. He's at a loss when these are in conflict which is why he looks to Naomi and Holden for guidance. He's a brillaint depicted character - he has all the tropes of the badass psycho but this conflict gives him huge depth.

On a side note; how does he maintain his physique in zero gravity?

In the most recent episode, there were
questions about his ability to keep his immoral side in check.
Well that's a relief - thank you!

Assuming books are zero-rated in Ireland (which appears to be the case), it shouldn't make any odds. (Same also for Brits importing. There should be no charge for printed matter, so long as the package doesn't contain anything else.)

I'm in Ireland, I hadn't even thought about this until today.

Interesting take but I don't think he has his own morality; he's painfully aware that he doesn't know right from wrong. Naomi wasn't his governor she was his moral compass.

If you are up to date on Season 5 you get a lot more of his backstory and it's heartbreaking without being whimsical. His anger and inabilty to connect emotionally (even with himself) are totally understandable.

I think I missed the Raised with Wolves chat but I went back a bit to see what others thought but couldn't find it.

I didn't like it, I thought it was all over the shop. Ridley Scott just seems to be recycling his old ideas into rather shoddy new material. This is how I imagined he pitched it:
OK so it's like Terminator but from Terminator 2 but IT'S A WOMAN and she fucks an Alien but like from Prometheus and they have a baby but like on another planet and she fly
Just started watching this and blazed through all 5 seasons in a week. It's so good!

Amos definitely has the best lines, I thought nothing could top "I *am* that guy" but then he went and did this:

Quote from: Funt Solo on 19 November, 2019, 06:01:18 AM
Antagonist: "Someday you and I are going to end up bloody."
Amos: "I'm free right now!"
