That will always be the biggest problem with long running strips, how do you end it. If you have not had an attended ending in mind when you started it just killing of  a character sounds very lazy. Maybe ride of into the sunset (or in Slaine's case joining up with Danu in hir cauldron) or sitting on the front porch smoking his pipe waiting for old age to finally catch-up with him.

Judge Dredd - The Citadel Webshop Exclusive Hardcover:

#2163
So everything ends up equally and I went for the yes Slaine should have continued otherwise we would have missed out on all those wonderful art. The only story that I was really disappointed about was Dragontamer (that art was sublime) and not about the fact that this was the last Slaine but it was just a mediocre ending, nothing ending. The ending was more a case for me if I cannot play with the toys nobody can. Does not matter what a certain writer said, I never believed that this was always the attended ending.

Only one choice: Indigo Prime

Never read Witchworld so I will be captain obvious and vote for Tribal Memories.

Was Witchworld ever collected?

I'll add one personal caveat...stick to the established Dredd continuity and have fun in that Dredd-verse, AND only Wagner can (and should...another Sideshow vote maybe?) eventually kill Dredd.

Interesting idea and we I spin one up on the next round

Prog / Re: Prog 2270 - 45 Revolutions per minute

A good celebration prog, enjoyed it.

Dredd – Good to have the old maestro back and he surely pulled me in with this opening episode even if Dredd is only mentioned.

Porteus Vex – The intrigue keeps on building as more of the past is revealed. How will Vex escape and the last page might have given him the opening. Great story with great art, Carroll and Lynch has become quite a dynamic team.

Indigo Prime – This looks an end of era as everything spirals out of control. We will see how and where this new story line takes us.

Kingmaker – This episode is consumed by one thing and that is Battle. An all action-oriented episode and we end with re-introduction.  We will have to see where Edginton takes us from here.

Tharg the Mighty – These Tharg stories has always been kind of a mixed bag and mostly I disliked them. This round well it was alright a little too long for my taste.

The Order – A very good episode. The battle of the shadows did not go as planned. How will our valiant heroes get out of this jar of pickles?

Brink – A solid opener here as we are introduced to new characters. Will be interesting to see which angle this story takes but to put it plainly great to have Brink back.

The only real pity for me is that I would have liked this to be a true jump-on prog, but I am sure for practical reasons due to schedule ding it was difficult with new stories starting in the xmas prog to be completed before the anniversary prog. The only thing that really counts is that this was a very good prog. So, it is congratulations on 45 years of thrill power. To the next 45 years!!!!!!!

Since the introduction of Dredd to the world in prog 2 he has never been re-launched or re-image in the prog. We still have the same Dredd as always.

One thing that I am sure you also noticed reading Dredd that each artists have his or her own style portraying the man (especially his gear) even writers building their own little verse within the bigger verse. Both writers and artists have a lot of freedom (you can also read this great interview with Boo Cook related to this topic: https://comicscene.org/2022/02/12/i-love-comics-interview-boo-cook/)

Now the question: do you like the idea of both artists and writers given more freedom or do you want a showrunner that keeps 100% with a particular way Dredd looks and no writer can deviate from the grounded path? So, your options:
-   Yes, let them be free let's have our artist and writers express themselves
-   No, by the book people let's keep it tight and to the letter
-   Whatever!!!, I just want to enjoy Dredd and the Dredd-verse

I can remember those days when you opened your favorite comic and those dreaded word appear especially if your comic was on the receiving end of things. So, this is quite simple which merger will you reckon was the best of the best (ends well all is well). Here are your merger buddies:
-   2000 AD and Starlord
-   2000 AD and Tornado
-   Eagle and Scream
-   Eagle and Tiger
-   Eagle and Battle
-   Battle Action
-   Battle Action Force

At the end one thrill got the most of the votes and it is the youngest of them all.

Voting closed the winner:

Counterfeit Girl

This was one was very close it with one extended battle that ended in a stalemate, so I called on Danu and from her cauldron the result came clear:

Voting closed the winner:

It should have continued

Books & Comics / Re: Comixology 4.0 - not sounding good.

What is worse for me is that the people that will be effected the most is the small publishers. If you look at the "new" improved comiXology main page the smaller publishers almost gets nothing.

So for an organize the size of Amazon tells us that they could not maintain two apps (Kindle/comiXology apps) anymore just shows you that customers/publishers are unimportant to them
