Very good news that Thistlebone is coming back. It worked great as a one-off, but I'd love to see more.

Oh yeah good call. Mind I read on Faciebook - from Simon Davis himself - that he's not doing any comic work for a while, maybe it was a year.So unless there is a change in artist we may need to be patient.

Quote from the Input Page: "meanwhile, the Eglington and Davis droids will be heading back into those eerie ol' woods sometime next year for the ghafflebette series follow-up."

Yes so hopefully he will be back on art duties.

The meg is not in a bad space currently. All the stories I do enjoy.  Yes, some of them might not be the strong as others but still they all are readable. Yes, when Lawless was running the meg was on superior form. This is run we have a different beast.

Dredd is just excellent for me. I could never get into Lynch art, but I must say that I am a fan of his work now.

Anderson in the Meg I find to be more enjoyable/readable than the prog version. The story is helped by Goddard's art (which I always find as very good).

It was relative good prog not so fond of the Future Shock. Great stuff from both Dredd and Jaegir.

Prog / Re: Decompressed Storytelling - Yes or No

I really do not mind how a story is told - compressed, uncompressed, one-shot, double header etc. What I have a bigger problem with is that we sometimes have to wait a few years before we get the next chapter (I am looking at you Helium).

The biggest problem as mentioned by Magnetica is the fact that this is a yearly edition. Enjoyed the art of Simon Coleby.

Harry Potter is one of those stories which I did not even exists if it wasn't for the movies. Enjoyed when it lasted but not something I will remember as being a classic.

I have the same feeling about the superhero movies. We are gonna be flooded with millions of movies and mostly struggle to find something that is a stand-out. I can see that systemically that the MCU will be moving that direction especially now that the original characters are no more.

The real excitement of these stories is guessing which member of the supporting cast will rescue Dredd.

"And eventually he was rescued by, oh... let's say Joe Moe."
