I am little late to the party just finished series 11. I hoped that I would enjoy it but that was not the case. I will give the next series a go because I do think there is some protentional in the new doctor.

My biggest problem is the stories. It mostly feels dark and sombre (where is the fun and silliest gone?). The companions I do not care for at all. The companions are always an important part of the series. At least I liked Jodie Whittaker more than Peter Capaldi as the doctor.

Very good prog.

The only question for me is how will Absalom wrap up in one episode, but lets wait and see

Good news (and glad to be wrong). I actually missed the news about Kingdom in the letter pages.

The last series running from prog 2100- 2110 called Alpha and Omega is suppose to be the last series. The ending is leaves a lot of questions open for me. I hope we get another series but that might be wishful thinking.

Watched Shazam and must say that it is an enjoyable fun movie.  Good the see that DC can also do a light-hearted movie full of laughs.

Battle Stations: War Picture Library - Hardcover, 64 pages, 20th February 2020

The first in a major series of new collections bringing the long lost UK war comics of Italian art maestro Hugo Pratt to the public in stunning new editions.

Two brothers of differing rank have to make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of the toughest duty.

This is a true story of courage under fire; a high-octane story of a blistering World War II naval battle. All illustrated by Hugo Pratt, one of the world's most renowned comic book artists. This thrilling war picture story marks the beginning of the Treasury of British Comics mission to return all of Pratt's UK work to print. Nowadays I'm afraid I just regard Slaine as a frame to hang some truly beautiful pictures on - Pat hasn't had anything interesting to say with the character for some time, but my god, Clint Langley and Simon Davis have given us some absolutely jaw-dropping images over Pat's thin storylines

Unfortunately so true. It almost feels like Pat is just recycling the same story does not matter the character(s). I am looking forward to the upcoming Defoe and hopefully the new Slaine story that is in the wings are something different and new.

I agree with that the reviews are enjoyable. My first encounter with Slaine was "Time Killer". I still have fond memories of this story and I will rate this along-side "The Horned God" as my all time favorite Slaine tales.

The Dredd story is like when you buy a boxset of movies just to get hold of one of them, that is how good this new Dredd story is.  Weston is a master (double wow) and Williams is one of my top Dredd writers.

And what a discovery when the you realise the rest of the movies in the box is some real good and solid stuff in it.

Absalom is another standout episode. It is a pity that it is coming to its conclusion soon.

I just have one minor complain and it is Thislebone that feels like it is dragging its feet a little bit. Art is as always with Davis top-notch.

Indigo Prime was just a wonderful weird wacky episode.

So yes, this was for me a 5 out 5 prog.

Other Reviews / Death Wish - Best Wishes
21 July, 2019, 09:56:06 AM
My first encounter with Death Wish was when Tiger merged with Eagle. Death Wish quickly would become one of my favorite stories in the "Eagle and Tiger" comic. Vanyo's detailed art and Barry Tomlinson script brought the world of Death Wish to light.

I never read any of the Death Wish stories in either Tiger or Speed, so more out nostalgic reasons and curiosity I bought the first volume. This volume contains the stories and its origin from Speed before the merger with Tiger.

Typically, of stories during that period we have 4 to 5-part stories that contains a story-line. Even with the way the stories are structured it is still an enjoyable read. I thought that due to its age (mine and the stories) that I might not enjoy it as much when a wish younger. In some sense the story still holds up quite well and it is wonderful to see Vanyo's art.
