Tthe best editor was Steve Macmanus.  He was I think before Richard Burton( Burt) took over.

And he also screwed Liz Taylor.

What a guy!

General / PVS, want some colour art by Flinty?
26 January, 2002, 08:01:55 PM
Try Helter Skelter parts 8 and 9. Prog 1257 and 1258.

The colour is done by Mr Blythe who now seems to have turned to writing!

Henry used to colour his old Rogue art. In the Mid 90's.

I rate his Nemesis Book 10 art as his best ever.

Yeah yeah boring! Forget all that Logan:O)

Did you email Flinty features and did he tell you if his art is originally in colour or not?

I got a mad theory it's coloured by Chris Blythe and then turned into black and white.

I mean the story is dumped at the end PVS!

Vanguard ended saying End Of book 1 or something similar.

What about Rogue Trooper Mark 2?

He is still lost in the black hole!

And I don't mean Venus!

Joke that.

Witchworld is another. Remember that anyone?

There are many more examples.

Here's a suggestion for the powers at be at Rebellion.

Just my opinion for what it's worth.

When you commission new stories, always ensure they are self contained. In other word have an absolute end.

If they are popular, bring them back and allow the writer to develop new ideas.

Bad Company and Zenith (the 1st series) were 100%self contained.

If you suggest too much in the last part of a new story and it bombs, you kind of have egg on your face.

Well this is the catch David...

If the series is unpopular and pulled, the backstory (the who, why, when and when) will never be told.

This is the problem for any story which is written as both a self contained tale but with plotline threads to be developed in the future. Examples being Carver Hale, Love Like Blood, Rain Dogs and Vanguard. These stories were meant to continue but we will ever see them again?

To me, a good story and writer has to be allowed time to develop. However if the fans out there can't stand it, the story is dumped.

I have a guess we may find out a bit more about Mr Shakara next week.

Why?

Well if you look at this week's next prog caption, it reads Psico killer. And Psico was mentioned in part 2 (prog 1273).

Whether all is revealed by the end of Shakara, I don't know. If not, we will have to hope the story is given a second chance.
However R Morrison's Vanguard was not a success so...

General / Is Henry Flint's art really in colour?
26 January, 2002, 04:14:39 PM
Ever since Mr Flint drew ABC Warriors last year and now Shakara, I've wondered if in fact his art is in colour and then printed in black and white.

All of the backgrounds look like they use a mixture of computer colour.

Does anyone have any ideas? Maybe someone at Rebellion can tell me?

If it is originally in colour, I hope he gets paid the same amount as colour art jobs! Would seem a shame to draw it in colour and then be printed in black and white.
