Off Topic / Re: XIII

Call of Duty is the Game Of The Year IMHO. Multiplayer's not quite as good as I'd hoped (a bit too 'counter-strike in WWII'for my taste) so Desert Combat will continue to take up my online time.

Thinking about XIII - I liked the demo (fairly hard though) but wonder whether it will maintain my interest once I get bored with the funky graphics. Got to say though, DvD might have looked better and more original for a XIII-style look.

Scooby Doo 2? Jumanji 2?? Oh the humanity...

On the other hand, The Incredibles looks like it'll be another Pixar triumph, Spidey 2 is looking tasty and I really, really want to see what they do with Lobo (it'll probably be crap, but you never know).

I thought the original Alex Ross pointed Kingdom Come was pretty good, but the follow up series was pretty dull apart from a killer last page...

Well Face is certainly at a loose end since his other famous character, Starbuck, in the new Battlestar Galactica movie is going to be a woman!

DR's better than it was, but is it just me or has the gratuitous goth porn reached new levels with pubes on display on page 3?

++But given the fact that constantine is based on Sting originally. Why not get the original? Hes in his late 40's after all.++

Possibly because he's a crap actor?

We were betting about this in the office and I thought it would be as you suggested - that the machines were protecting the humans (I also thought Zion was another Matrix that acted as a 'safety valve' for disaffected humans) - since this would also have explained Neo's powers in 'the real world'. A far more elegant explanation that the crap they actually served up to us :(

You're confused.

SPOILERS!SPOILERS!SPOILERS!SPOILERS!SPOILER!

It was rubbish. Ludicrous plot holes, the humans are worse off than before (since the machines know where they are), the Zion battle looked cool but was really silly when you think about it from a defence point of view. I think the conversation with the Architect about letting anyone who wanted to go be allowed to do so referred to programs, not humans. Finally, you've got billions of humans being used as batteries because of a lack of energy sources (which was ALWAYS a ludicorus premise anyway) and then Neo & Trinity fly ABOVE THE CLOUDS AND, OOH LOOK, SUNLIGHT!!! So, the machines could keep all these humans alive and power a bloody great computer program, or solve their problem by building a big ladder. Jeyzus!

Watchmen. Sucker for Dave Gibbons art. But it IS difficult to compare the two tbh.

Actually I think this lot are much better; I can see half a dozen I like. Still give it to 32 though.

PSP will feature loads of PS1 ports (the way GBA features loads of SNES ports), so I would expect a lot of games at launch. Of course they're also going to push PSP as a a portable music and video player 'out of the box' without all the accessories you need with the GBA.

Um, n-gage is a pile of arse, but PSP? We don't know yet, but if anyone can take Nintendo to the cleaners its Sony. The specs look good and it'll probably launch with a massive range of games. If I was Nintendo I'd be bricking it.
