Prog / Re: Dredd's location this week...

++It's also the most atmospheric bloody place i've ever been.++

It's certainly bloody windy up there...

You forgot to mention the Great Wyrm of Glastonbury Tor, and the thorn bush that lived for 900 years.

++I was reading a story at the weekend, a Dredd about an East Meg judge hiding out in a sports stadium, and thinking the war was still on.
The progs are upstairs and I can't be bothered to go up, that and my wife is painting one of the bedrooms and I might get roped in, anyway, the guy who drew that was good.++

John Cooper, who was almost given the assignment of designing Dredd in place of Carlos Ezquerra.

He did some great work on 'Johnny Red' for Battle.

++I had no idea that Mike White drew Armoured Gideon; I must have stopped reading 2000AD at that point.++

It was only the one episode - a deliberately 'old skool' one, including 'Thrill Power Overload' warnings at the end of the episode, guest appearances by Bill Savage, MACH Zero, Wolfie Smith and Angel and cameos by the likes of Dan Dare, Star Lord and the giant ants from Ant Wars.

++That other chap who drew the first Gideon stories - what was his name?++

Simon Jacobs - he was better in colour, but I suspect you'd still hate it...

++Who drew the final Mean Arena [series 1] issues? He was a good, solid illustrator. ++

Mike White.

He was last seen in 2000AD drawing the black and white episode of 'Armoured Gideon', when the hyper-heroes are abducted by the Collector, if I recall.

General / Re: Judge Death Vs Spawn

++Spawn. He has a cape.++

Ah, but don't forget that it's a MacFarlane cape - all Death would have to do would be to trap Spawn in a small room and then persuade him to make one of his brooding type poses and the cape would magically grow to an outragiously large and totally impractical scale, thus suffocating the masked gimp before he can move onto the next panel.

++People who won't give a straight answer to a straight question.++

That'll be 'politicians', Shirley.

They'd be the first up against the wall - I suppose you could bring them back to life to shoot them again, though. That'll teach 'em...

No, I meant the Hotdog Run that appeared just before 'Block Mania'...

I suppose it could be another guy with the same name, though.

Anyone else noticed that one of the Cadets from 'The Hotdog run' has recently turned up as a judge during the Chief Judges man story...?

I hope that someone will at least bother to tell him this time, then.

After all, 'Mills vs. Barnes' is a tabloid headline just a waitin' to be a happenin'.

Ahem, it's a sort of play on words or pun, see...?

Hmmm, I'll get me cloak...

Hmmm, people only seem to be suggesting Pat Mills characters...

After his fury about the appearance of the 'Satanus' sequel story, I doubt he'd allow any of his other characters to make an appearance.

++Ha ha ha! Fantastic, fellas! Given me some top-drawer advice, and descended into nonsense in double-quick time! Ice-Warriors melt when exposed to Sunny Delight indeed!++

Whaaat? Nonsense?!? That's valuable tactical advice in the event of an Ice Warrior invasion, lad. Why, all we'd need to do is set that kid who turned orange on them and they'd soon learn who's boss!

++Think I'll go for the Talons of Weng Chiang, since it was mentioned a few times, and having now done a scout on Google, I see it stars Tom Baker and is set in a fog-bound Victorian London. Perfect! I'll pick it up this week!++

It's spoilt only the the first television appearance of Roland Rat, but is otherwise bloody good.

Ogrons refuse to drink Orangina because it has bits in it. Unless they're allowed to have a Wagon Wheel afterwards to take the taste away.
