Sontarans exist on nothing but Vimto, and are so dead hard that they are not even put off when they realise that it's an anagram of 'vomit'.

++Ribena of the Daleks?++

Careful lad, the agents of Terry Nation are everywhere and you owe them ten bob already just for mentioning the Outerspace Robot People from TV's Doctor Who TM!

Anyway, it was nowhere near as good as 'Um-Bongo of the Cybermen'.

'Leader - analysis shows the liquid contains gwava, passion fruit and mango!'

'Excellent!'

++Is is right that Colin Baker's Doctor's infamous last words were 'Carrot Juice?! as he entered the TARDIS for the last time?++

'Carrot juice, carrot juice, carrot juice', actually.

Hartnells Doctor had possibly the best Last Words:
'It's far from being all over!', but unfortunately somebody passes him his cloak and he replies, 'oh, what, yes - thank you', which doesn't exactly have the same dramatic ring, but I suppose it did save us from 'I'll get me cloak.'

++As for his age, IIRC correctly he was alluded to during the Tom Baker years as being in his 700's, though by the Colin Baker period there were suggestions floating about that he was 900-1000 years old. I think this is a subject you shouldn't think too hard about if you care about continuity issues :)++

He's 450 or so during 'Tomb of the Cybermen', 'thousands of years old' in 'Doctor Who and the Silurians', 750 in 'Pyramids of Mars', but 743 in 'The Power of Kroll'.

He doesn't mention an age again until 'Trial of a Time Lord', when he's 900 years old.  However, in the next story, he's 953 - meaning that he's spent FIFTY-THREE YEARS on his own with Bonnie Langford.

No wonder he drops dead for no apparent reason...

++First of all, Susan is not a Time Lord, she was human. Supposedly the Doctor 'adopted' her. This was brought to clarity in the last episode she appears in (as a child) when he leaves her on Earth.++

Oh, dear - Doctor Who fight!

Susan never claims to be human - she has non-human telepathic powers during 'The Sensorites', and claims that her home world has orange skies and trees with silver leaves.  When the outside of Gallifrey appears in 'The Invasion of Time', does indeed have an orange sky...

What's more, she recognises the Death Zone on Gallifrey during 'The Five Doctors'.  Admittedly she may not actually be a Time Lord, but she certainly seems to be Gallifreyan rather than human.

Although, presumably, Gallifreyans don't become Time Lords until they graduate from the Academy (it's a title rather than the name of their species) so here wouldn't be any 'Time Lord' children anyway.

Now, now, young David - you know very well than none of those sources are proper Doctor Who!

Unless it was on the telly, it doesn't count!

I take it from your shoutyness today that you have regenerated into the form of Brian Blessed to answer this question, Doctor X?

++1 William Hartnoll was the first Doctor but has his adventures before 1963 (real time) ever been explored?++

Well, William Hartnell (known as 'Billy' to his friends and family) had an extensive career playing tough guy roles, often appearing as an army sergeant in such films as 'Carry on, Sergeant' and the TV series 'The Army Game'.  He also received great acclaim for his role as seedy gangster Dally in 'Brighton Rock' in 1947, appearing opposite a young Richard Attenborough.  His film debut was in 'I'm an Explosive!' in 1933, I think - quite an extensive pre-1963 career, but not exactly 'adventures'...

Or did you mean the adventures of the Doctor?  Susan mentions a previous visit to revolutionary France and a couple of times where the TARDIS has changed shape, and several of the McCoy stories alludes to the Doctor's previous dark past *

* But we don't talk about that because the Watcher finds it offensive and throws a strop.

++2 How old was the Doctor when we first met him?++

Younger than 450 in Earth years (the age the Second Doctor estimates himself to be in 'Tomb of the Cybermen').  William Hartnell was 57.

++3 How many lives does he have?++

Thirteen.  He is capable of regenerating his body 12 times, according to Co-ordinator Engin in 'The Deadly Assassin' and reiterated many times since, unless the damage is too severe. There does seem to be several ways of obtaining more regenerations, though (the Master is offered a 'new regenerative cycle' to help the Doctor during 'The Five Doctors' and uses several methods to extend his life).

++4 Was the First Doctor actually the first body the Doctor has had?++

Yes.  The Fifth Doctor states ?this is my fifth body? during ?Mawdryn Undead?.  Doctor Who fans don?t talk about the extra faces in ?The Brain of Morbius? ? it?s considered the height of rudeness to bring the subject up.

++5 How old do Time Lords live?++

Unknown.  The forth Doctor is aged 1,000 years in ?The Leisure Hive? but retains his Tom Bakerness ? so I suppose a really old Time Lord could be 13,000 years old or more.

++6 Have we ever seen Time Lord children?++

No.  Susan appears to be a teenager, though.

++7 Is it just the people who live on Gallifrey who are Time Lords?++

Yes ? although not all people who live on Gallifrey are Time Lords.  Castellan Spandrel mentions ?Shoboogans? and there are ?Outsiders? living outside the Capital in ?The Invasion of Time?.

++8 What powers do Time Lords have?++

Minor telepathic abilities, the power to go into a recuperative coma and the ability to regenerate.  The Master seems to possess mesmerise powers ? although this seems to be a Plot Device rather than a Time Lord ability.

It never states explicidly that Solomon is the Chief Judge (or even Grand Judge...the title doesn't change until 'The Day the Law Died', and 'Deputy Grand Judge Fodder' gets killed off in the first episode of 'The Cursed Earth'), he's merely the judge in charge of President Booth's war crimes trial.  Presumably, he's someone known for the wisdom of his judgements - and war crimes tribunals aren't usually headed personally by Heads of State.

However, there are a couple of judges who appear in the White House to read the Declaration of Judgement and impeach Booth - I assume one of them is the Chief Judge, specially as the one at the rear looks suspiciously like McMahon's Dredd.  Neither of them are Solomon.

++You mean to say that Bullseye! was nothing more than a televised fairground con.++

I don't think it was intentional - all the boards were placed one foot higher than a regular dartboard, so a hit that would normally be a tripple 20 or a bullseye would in fact miss the board - making it extremely difficult for an experience darts player to adapt (the non-darts playing member of the teams often scored much better than their expert partners, ISTR).  What's more, they couldn't afford to change the set design for five years...and it was even more wrong afterwards.

Bullseye was great - specially as the dartboard was subtly mis-aligned, making it almost impossible to hit what you aimed at...

++Iiiiiiiin 4..
This lovely washer dryer!

And Bully's special prize....

A speedboat!++

No, it was only a speedboat when the chimps couldn't throw properly and got to see 'here's what you would have won!'

Usually, actual winners would recieve a 'stunning set of garden furniture!' or 'an electric lawnmower!'...
