Consider yourself lucky, you could have ended up with an empty Marlboro packet and a burnt out monitor...

General / 2000 AD fan with own costume wanted

Okay, it's not as dodgy as it sounds (which may disappoint some of you). I'm working on a feature with the Big Issue for the anniversary, and one of the things they want to include is a small write-up on a dedicated 2000 AD fan.

The only proviso is that they need someone who either possesses an outfit based on one of the main characters from 2000 (and is happy to be photographed in it), or has good photos of themselves at Dreddcon/Bristol/wherever in full costume.

As the feature will be going into the South-West and Midlands editions of Big Issue, fans from those areas will be doubly welcome.

Please email me at markc@rebellion.co.uk if you think you can help (and let me know what character you've dressed up as).

Cheers

Not as good as the one in Bad Taste where the hero leaps down the bad guy's throat and chainsaws his way out the back way...

Er, keep an eye out for the anniversary cover if you want an answer to that one...

Nothing could be as bad as the teen anti-drugs and anti-smoking adverts that are interspersed with videogame ads in US comics (there's probably some comic strip in there somewhere too).

Unlike the UK, where the goverment seem to have finally figured this out, the Americans still seem to be under the impression that the best way to keep kids away from drugs is by patronising them and insulting their intelligence.

If I remember rightly, Skizz pre-dated ET. Anyone confirm that?

Interesting idea - has anyone seen the 'Kubricks' lego style figures from Japan?

Basically, they prduce lego type figures, except of famous films and stars - i.e. Bruce Lee, and I think there have been sets based on 2001 and Psycho.

You're right, standard execution is the normal bog-standard round the lawgiver fires.

I have to say though, that some of the arguments on the various 2000 AD boards have been just as obsessive as the organic webshooter ones. That's what the boards are for.
