I also keep meaning to eBay list Warhammer 40K Anthology, Warcraft III + Frozen Throne, Spellforce Universe and Rainbow 6 on eBay, along with the first Fable and a DS wi-fi stick and CD if anyone is willing to make an offer. There's also a few other bits and bobs in the loft.

I tend to buy stuff cheap and then play it when I am in the mood, but blast through it over a few nights. I just got FEAR 2 and Wolfenstein for £9 each off eBay, for example.

Howver, the game I play the most - way, way too often - is the might FOOTBALL MANAGER 2006. CUrrently on the 18th day of play (I had a game with 30 days before that, then deleted it, then re-installed and started from scratch the next day).

Have Pre-Ordered GTA: Tales and Fallout GOTY edition. Quite fancy Brutal Legend (Psychonauts was tops)

Chaps, it's a bit early to be having a go at the posties. Or have you had your letters and there's no thrill powered goodness?

I'm in that limbo state where the day might turn out good or bad: the postie hasn't been, so I don't know if I'm a progle (progless prole) or not.

The Prog arrived today. I now sneer at the progless proles.

I've had a quick shufty on Google Images and can't find anything. I'm sure, though, there are picutres somewhere of genuine working cast models of Robocop with Dredd's head. Mibbe on this site?

THere's proof he's based on Dredd. Isn't there a "Making Of" documentary showing Robocop casts and models carved to look like Dredd?

I'd love to come. But Mrs X is due to drop a sprog the following week, and if the last two are anything to go by the she gets a bit funny about me being drunk when she's about to drop. Hypocrite. She ends up guffawing on gas and air, then on hard drugs like pethidene and what have you - but I've got to keep a clear head? AND I'm not the one having the sprog.

No offence meant. In fact, happy for them to strike.

Provided that, like the Red Cross crossing lines of battle, they're allowed to deliver Thrill Power to the needy. Either that or a scab can do it. Not bothered either way so long as I get me prog.

Just thought... if there's a strike then it's us subscribers who lose!

Never mind what they're striking for - get it sorted. I need my prog delivered every 7 days with an air of vague smugness when I think of those non-subscribers who have to wait.

Prog / Re: Prog 1654: Lady and the Vamp

I have no prog and I must scream.

That's what's so poor about the prog. The gruddam delivery. For months, years, it's been on time. Now it's so good the posties are delivering late. Are the envelopes made of lead to contain the thrill power? Or is the imminent postal strike starting to bite.

Just finished this book:

If even a tenth of what's in it is true, we're all screwed. Scary, scary stuff - truly the most horrifying book I have ever read. In a nutshell: the Russian mob will control us all, through gas, diamonds and a reasonable protection rate.

I don't get it, Tips.

Dunno if these have been mentioned, but there's a load of new T-shirts at Play including the bobble head one - and this!

Great prog etc etc

Re. Kingdom. Human/ animal hybrids, grown in "vats"? Very Meltdown Man if you ask me. Thinking my earlier speculation about this being a prequel/ sequel is closer to the mark than you think.

Film & TV / Re: Best "goosebump" moment in film
11 September, 2009, 09:55:18 AM
I found the Exorcist to be an exercise in creeping terror.

I find Romero's zombies scary. Dawn of the Dead's remake gave me nightmares - the only film ever to have done so. I also found Star Trek: First Contact quite scary (that's not a joke).

When I watch a horror, I find myself asking: what would I do in that situation? Normally, the answer is run away, hence I find any other reaction dumb and disbelief difficult to suspend.

But there's something about zombies (or the Borg) that gets to me. It's the fact they are an unstoppable force, that you cannot out run or fight. When I ask myself "what would I do" while watching a zombie film, the answer is that I'd die. That scares me. There's a tension in those films because you know that, even if someone makes it to the end of the 90 minutes, they're still going to die.
