Growing your nose. Just think what you could pick from it if it was long enough.

So what's the strangest thing you've "had" in the kitchen?

I think it's actually "Bond" that puts you at the top of the Most Wanted List, as the attached link shows.

I feel kind of let down. Five years at the University of Mad Science, a plot for world domination bubbling along nicely, and they never even blinked an eye lid. Some poor sod goes off on holiday and next thing he's in pokey.

On a general "leaving things" type note, on September 18th 2001 I was in the USA and left my passport, Mrs X's passport, our plane tickets and all our holiday photos in a taxi.

The AMericans, understandably, were very strict about security.

I can still see Mrs X's face, contorted with tears, as she utters the soul-damaging, heart-felt sob: "Being married to you is my worst nightmare."

Today I took a copy of the soundtrack to 70s quasi-porn flick "Vampyros Lesbos" into work. I ordered it from Amazon for a colleague (hey-don't judge me, check out the reviews on Amazon - I think I've included a link). He DJs on a semi-professional basis and uses that kind of tune.

It did strike me, though, that I was probably the only person out of the hundreds on my train carrying the soundtrack to a 30 year old Italian softporn flick.

Which begs the question, what's the strangest thing anyone on the board has taken into work?

How about when you were drunk? I once found a kitchen sink on Buchanan Street (and seeing as how everyone on this board knows Glasgow, that should be familiar to you) on the 3am night bus from George Square.

I'm touched (nothing new there, as Mrs X might say).

If there's a Gold reprint of Hookjaw, this has got to form the basis of the cover - then again it'd probably be banned and turn up for sale on eBay at ?40 a pop.

I am most impressed with (a) the artistic skill and (b) the clear evidence of procrastination on this board.

I have to say, the "Action" Jaws poster earlier in this thread is one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. I don't know if I'll ever watch that film in the same light.

As for the site, if it ain't broke don't fix it - besides who would stick to any rules?

Tragically, I was thinking about this shower while having a coffee this morning. I REALLY (sorry - can't do bold) think these chaps need a set of villains. SinDex follows the early Dredd format almost to a 't' - heroes have a case, meet the villain of the week and kill him. As Wagner said back in the 70s/ 80s, this stifles the development of the story. FOr me, this is the fundamental problem with SinDex - it hasn't developed at all. We can all name a dozen Dredd villains, alive or dead (the Dark Judges, Chopper, the Angel Gang, Father Earth). The only one SinDex villain I can think off from the top of my head is Holy Moses, and he was dead before the strip started. Although I suspect the recent dimension jump storyline was a device to bring him and Croak into the current Downlode.

Pah! Too busy getting to the strip to bother with a title.

SinDex jumped the shark when Dex went on the "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" tribute show. Until then, the characters always had brains - that storyline, albeit a device to get them into space, should have been binned. Going on the show was too out of character for me. Until then I thought SinDex was okay, but nothing special. Now, it gets more tired each week. What they need, IMO, is a good villain. Dredd has Death, after all. Without one, the stories run the danger of getting stuck in a rut - a bit like Rogue Trooper's Hits storyline (thinking about it, that strip illustrates the need for a villain; as soon as the Traitor General was found it went into a nosedive).

The problem is, as others have pointed out, that there are no strips pushing to replace SinDex. In the last few years we've had re-done Strontium Dog and revived VCs. It can't be good for the comic if the old stories are the only ones that last.

And, just to prove how invalid my opinions must be - I'm a big fan of Avatar. I thoroughly enjoyed the first one, looked forward to the second, and gobbled up the first episode of the second series like it was made of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes.
