Games / PSVR - Recommended or not?
31 May, 2019, 12:02:16 AM
I see there's a PS4 sale starting next week, with PSVR sets at £180.

I am sorely tempted to pick one up. I have a PS4 Pro, so it has a bit of extra oomph to run it.

My question is, has anyone got PSVR and is it just a gimmick? Is it worth it?

If anyone is reading this from Rebellion/TBC I think Look Out for Lefty could warrant a reprint?

Has it ever been reprinted?

"Anyone" generally would be Robo-Keef!

I didn't know you could get paid to read this board.

Odd, instantly forgettable, disposable tosh.

Like a special in an Indian restaurant, this is a failed experiment that proves you should not deviate too far from the norm - and certainly not for no good reason.

Books & Comics / Re: Whats everyone reading?

MEDDLING KIDS

Derivative but such tremendous fun.

It reads like a cross between Umbrella Academy and Scooby Doo, with a dash of the Famous Five and a lot of Lovecraft.

Could be a novelization of a 2000ad strip - Survival Geeks is the closest, I think, but with a rotten town and the hint of slumbering oblivion at the bottom of the lake.

Recommended.

I've no idea who the Einstein-a-like is at the end of Kingmaker. Who is it?
I'm assuming it's the Kurt Vonnegut character who's been lurking about in people's heads in Brass Sun.
It's all too much for me to remember!

And the (I think) mid-page time jump was jarring too.

Film & TV / Re: New 'Salem's Lot' Movie

I'd love to see a remake, but only if it went for balls out fear.

The thing that resonates with me, from the book, is the creeping depopulation of the town. That kind of sudden apocalyptic realistation of wrongness needs to be portrayed. Not some teen flick.

It'll end up a teen flick.

My lad asks:

If Thanos can create a universe, then instead of killing 50% of everyone, why not double the amount of resources?

Looks like the Star Wars films can't even do exciting trailers any more.

I don't frequent this thread, but I came here to see if there was any common sense on Brexit.

That's not a slur on anyone posting here. It's just that I have no idea where else to go, and this board is usually sensible.

What are we all to do? How hand-wringy a thing is that to post? How true, though?
