"Go and stand in the corner now, byron..."

Sorry, I'm just a grumpy turd. It's just all this obsession with spoilers pisses me right off.
Didn't mean to dissparage JEB's Perry Mason obsession.

I suppose I could always try and make it up by getting an autograph of Mary Tamm and Lala Ward...

Well what the fuck's that mean? There wasn't any fucking spoiler to begin with! He just quoted some abstract fucking line from the tv series!

And it's 'Peri', not 'Perry'.

Not that I give a toss.

How is any of this a SPOILER?

Didn't Russell T. Davis say in a newspaper interview that the new Daleks "fly like bastards" some while back?

Not that I care, or anything.

Oh God, that was weak. Especially since the original explanation for such was that gold DUST clogged their air filtration unit, so WTF use would an old coin be?

I'm really beginning to worry about your sense of taste Dudley!

There is a reason that Channel Four put certain American exports on in the middle of the night, you know...

Sorry to take up this thread too, and no offence meant Pete, but I think your opinions of Matt Smith are completely out of proportion and actually detrimental to the comic.

Mr. Smith is paid, as an employee of Rebellion, to edit 2000AD: nothing more, nor less. As far as I know he doesn't have any input into the Rebellion trades, nor into the advertising of such. He is just paid to get the comic out every week, and frankly, if it was a choice between him posting on some messagboard all the time or actually getting the job done to the excellent standard he's been maintaining for the last couple of years, then I know which option I'd prefer.

If Mr. Smith doesn't want to post on a messageboard, then I don't think it should be an issue. This was a case of a situation occuring, so someone who already had an existing contact with Smith asked him for some info. I'm sure Rebellion will be putting together a press release for this, but in the end that's not Smith's job, and anything extra that you get is a bonus. I have to say that in all my dealings with Rebellion, they've always shown themselves to be on the ball, capable and particularly generous, above and beyond the call of duty, towards helping out the fans.
I think it's very dangerous for people on the internet to get the impression that somehow we are more important or dedicated fans of a title just because we're the most prominent (to ourselves at least). After all, how many people have read the comic for years and have never joined this messageboard? 2000AD should be, as it is now, a comic that is accessible to a large range of people, not just a few sad gits on the the internet. And frankly speaking, it's attitudes like yours that will drive dedicated, hard working people like Matt Smith away from the comic, which can only be to it's detriment.

Not really the end of the world - it'd only kill off those born after 1969 (which, admittedly, would be he majority). Still, I'd like to see a post apocalypse world totally inhabited by octogenarians.

Yes, it was good to see that they decided to go with an Ezquerra cover in the end (it'd be sacraligious not to!).

I'm going to have to go to a comic shop today, now then!

Yeah, I checked this at lunchtime, and it's definitely the same.

To my mind, The Daredevilswas quite possibly one of the best of those comic/magazine anthology titles - even better than Warrior. You had Alans Moore and Davis on Captain Britain, Frank Miller Daredevil reprints in b&w, articles by Steve Moore and Alan Moore, Nightraven text stories by Alan Moore with illustrations by Dave Lloyd and Alan Davis, and reprints of Alan Moore's Dr. Who strips. Bloody excellent - I was thinking of taking some of my copies down to Bristol to get Davis to sign them too!

Just bought MWoM from Smiths, so I'll have a look at that a bit later.
