No, I was in a genuine bad mood all day, but I won't tell you why since it would spoil the purpose of the thread.

Anyhow, some prizes I quickly sorted out are:

-Judge Dredd Magazine #s 26, vol. 4.1, 206-220, 200AD Gold 1 (Fiends of the Eastern Front) + 2 (Strontium Dog: The Galaxy Killers)

-The Chronicles of Judge Dredd: The Cursed Earth pt. 1 (Titan)

-Banzai Battalion

If these prizes are a bit cack, let me know and I'll think up something better.

General / Why is Byron in Such a Bad Mood?

Well, I'm a grumpy sod, so what's new?

Well, the person who manages to suggest the most gonzo, biazarre reason for my bitter persona today that makes me laugh the most will win themselves something genuinely nice. I've a stack of comics, videos and so on at home, so I'll work out three prizes for three winners: whoever comes first gets their choice of prizes, whilst second place get's to choose between two, and third will just be lucky to get what they recieve.

Competition closes between when I finish work this time tomorrow and Wednesday morning, so get slagging, and put a smile on an old grump's face.

Actually, why not use a pic of his getting shot by that nutter (no, not me!) who, incidentally, the Vatican was keen to have at the Pope's funeral. That way you're covering both bases - the living and the dead.

Slightly off-topc, but didn't anyone else find it a bit odd when they were parading around that dead body like Lenin's corpse? They must have had those enbalmers on 24 Hr standby!

Also, everyone who went to St. Peter's square seemed to be having a whale of a time: people were laughing, camping out, having barbecues, parties, drinking, Swiss guards were dancing with little old ladies whilst smoking the ganj - it was buzzing! It was like Glastonbury for Catholics!

Is that some kind of poorly phrased come-on?!?!

As reported by Reuters:

"Friday April 19th 2005

Jackson, Indiana: Local Baptist minister Fred Pesto yesterday claimed that he had seen the recently deceased Pope John Paul II alive and well and lurking outside his curch.
"I saw that undead Pope with my own two eyes. He was sitting on a bench over the other side of the road from the ministry. He didn't look like he knew where he was, but he had one eye on me the whole time he sat there, with his Popish inscutability. And he appeard to have developed the power of flight."
Pesto claimed that he followed the former pontiff to a local park, where he witnessed the Pope kill and eat a number of local wildfowl, before loosing sight of him whilst he flew toward the sun.
"I don't know where he went, but I do know that he's out there somewhere now, planning his vengeance against the whole human race, God help us all".
Yet other local religious leaders, such as Jed Knives of the Lutheran Church of Latter-Day Saints, poured scorn of Pesto's claims:
"I guess I've seen just 'bout everything, the day I see a zombie Pope fly!"
The Vatican has denied claims that the Pope burried yesterday was merely a shoddy mannequin made of cloth and straw, operated by a series of strings and pulleys.

Just looking at the 'David Bowie Planning Watchmen Opera?' thread over at John Reppion and Leah Moore's website, and they just came out with the following suggestions:

"starring jason Donovan as Rorschach, Darren Day as Dr Manhatten, Danny from Hearsay as Adrian Veidt, Billie Piper as the Silk Spectre...wow what a concept! call someone's agent!!!"

"Get Ben Elton on the phone."

What do you mean? He's a 30-foot gorilla - he doesn't want to go swimming, he wants to go rucking with dinosaurs and give the ladies some of his monkey love. Swimming is for the essentialy hairless. If anything, the door is there so they can bring in all the ape dung that the islanders probably use to fertilize their crops.
