If I even had the slightest clue about posting images I would take up that kind offer. All I can remember, unfortunately, is that you need to have a website hosting your images, and i've no idea how to do any of that (I know, I'm so pathetic).

Oh well, I'm off to do some more drawing.

Off Topic / I'm Feeling Rather Chipper Today...
17 July, 2004, 10:38:01 PM
Normally, working on the weekend is a bit of a drag. But today I feel focused, positive and, unusually, in a good mood. I pu this down, mostly, due to the fact that I've decided to teach myslef to draw today.

However, this diferrs from my old experience of drawing at school, where I was bloody awful, but instead drawing in a cartoonish kind of style. It's made an enourmous difference - I can actually draw people without making them look like monkeys! I put this down to the fact that I've realised that you don't try and draw everything you see, as I used to, but instead just draw those elements that are most obvious and define the character to your eye.

I'd put my 'style', if you will, as somewhere between Brett Ewins and Marcello Frusin. That's not to say that I'm as good as them, or indeed other pencil monkeys, both professional and amteur. I'm pretty sure even a blind dead child with no hands and arms and a really bad inner ear problem would be able to outdraw me. It's just that I surprised myslef that I could actually draw something that looks like the thing it looks like, and that I was pretty fast as well. And even if I say so myself, they aren't half bad!

Anyway, i'm rambling, but I just feel kind of elated. Sad, isn't it, that someone can be so pleased with themselves just for making a few scratchings on a piece of paper with a pencil?

Still, if you want a picture of moody looking geezers with cigarettes dangling from their mouth's, I'm the bloke to come and see.

This afternoon: Learning How To Ink.

Sorry I haven't sent you those scans yet max, but our infranet at work has gone tits up, so I've been unable to scan anything for a week. I'll try and get it done whilst you're away (as long as IT get off their arses and do something).

Does this whole "Living in the Shadow of..." thing work outside of the art world?

I mean, could the inestimable Jamie 'The Board' Boardman himself be living in the shadow of one of his contemporaries (gn editor for...oh, I don't know, DC or something. One of those companies with all the money and bright whizzing lights and colours and such)?

"Dollars" is not an acceptible colour. You could have chosen Ben Franklin Green or Liz Windsor Grey.

Come down amongst "minefield of nastiness and petty-mindedness" have you Fraze? [he said, immediatly justifying the artists point of view].

What'd you eat for breakfast?

And more tot he point, what's your favourite colour?

Mmm...I've never read that either. Was that where the Zombie Dredd spontaniously returned to life, but nothing else happened?

But the pats in the lighthouse are supposedly shot by Terry Fisher (which is probably why those are the best bits). And that lady who played Dr. Who's grandaughter plays a blind French girl in it too!
