That's a point - would Shockwave turn into a CD now, this film being made in the terrible hyperealistic futureworld of today?

Even more importantly, why am I asking such a pointlessly nerdy question?

Hah! Now *that's* the true spirit of the season! Well done chaps (and chapette) - fantastic work there!

Love that swanky new colouring job too; very nice indeed.

What happened to the Kevin Keegan-style perm he was wearing when they let him out of the Maze, that's what I want to know...

Though it would explain a dapper, Beau Brummel-y feel to your own coiffure though...

Didn't you people listen when David Icke and L. Ron Hubbard banded together as the LONE PROPHETS OF SANITY to warn us about the alien lizard menace attempting to infiltrate our very society, known only as SANN-TORRR - THE BEASTS FROM BEYOND SPACE...?

"Well, Byron, Shakira's Hips Don't Lie was a close second favourite - hope that makes things better?"

The sad thing is, you sound just like my mate Dan...he even liked the new Take That song...

"I'm with JimBob - can't see why so much hate is aimed at vaguely inoffensive indie boys when there's so much identikit R 'n' B slushing about at best vacuously and at worst offensively."

Well, at least you called in R 'n' B, not R&B (different thing entirely!) - but I don't see that the shite club sound is any more prevelant than itinerant indie. If anything, indie is winning now because people grew sick of  'Ffiddy Cent, Eminem's retired, who the fuck knows what's going on with Snoop, the Neptunes started polishing their own turds and Kanye West (who, to be fair, does actually have some good beats) has now found a social conscience. There's far more indie guitar band cack out there now, whereas mainstream hip hop is on another downslide...thus allowing more interesting acts to sneak into the mainstream. All we need is for Beyonce to get killed in a freak yachting mishap and we're well on our way...

"Best - Snow Patrol/Martha Wainwright, Set The Fire To The Third Bar."

James: just when I thought you'd totally degraded yourself, you manage to sink to a new low...for shame...no wonder you were crying with laughter... ;-)

My top pick of 2006 would have to be 'Intimate Secretary' of The Raconteurs album (though anything off there is good), with a special nod going to 'Alyways Coming Back Home to You/Say Shh' off Atomsphere's 'Seven's Travels'. I know it came out in 2003, but I only discovered it this year.

As for worst song - who was that godawful warbler who did that dreary shite about the "punk-rockers" with "flowers in theiry hair"? Seriously, I'd quite happily pay good money to see her strung up - mail me if anyone fancies the job (cash on delivery).

No, I think you're getting 'Paul Verehoeven' confused with 'Oliver Stone'. It happens.

"Alternatively, you could always killfile me and randomly insert one of the following into any thread of your choice:"

I tried that, but the pseudo-you seemed to blather on about The Inspectre more than the real you did. And he was very personally insulting because I wouldn't listen to Bauhaus, or whatever the fuck.

17, but in my defence, I got all the ones that were actually about cinema, and not just celebrity gossip-mongering, right.

Not that I'm bitter, or anything...

There's not many living outside of Kent who'd admit to going to watch Crank of their own volition...

I like the Daily Star's not-at-all-sensationalist cover headline today:

HOOKER SUSPECT A WEB WEIRDO

Calls himself 'The Bishop' on myspace

Goes midnight gardening in lycra

(Is it just me, or does 'midnight gardening' sound like some sort of dreadful euphamism for something...?)

He got sacked from Tesco's, he hasn't starred in any films and he likes 80's music and Hong Kong Phooey.

The man's a monster!
