I think it's a phase he's going through. He'll get over it!  ;)

Film Discussion / Re: Dredd (2012)

Saw The Raid tonight and it was a very impressive film for the budget, but I really don't think Dredd has got anything to worry about. There are enough differences with the Dredd story to make it a significantly different experience to The Raid (much less martial arts for starters).

As for The Hungar Games, what a hugely overrated film that was. Poor direction, for the most part, and a weak script. Just shows what effective hype and Twighlight fans hungry for more can achieve! And it's not a tenth of the film Battle Royale was.

Still not in stock on Amazon! Things are usually available way before their official release date, what on earth is going on!??

Amazon must of received limited stocks for this one as it's listed "out of stock" strange as mine was dispatched a few days ago.

You know, after reading up on a few bits that *may or may not* be movie spoilers, I'm actually wondering if I should NOT go and see this at the cinema. For fear that I may soil myself in abject terror.

In that case, I hope they're suppling nappies at the IMAX!  :o

Yeah, I'm not expecting anything until San Diego, although missing trailing it with Prometheus would seem to be a bit of shame...

Would be a bit of a missed opportunity for sure bearing in mind that Prometheus is a very high profile R\15 certificate movie in 3D and aimed at the same target market. Time will tell.

Loving Drokk! It's a fantastic listen and understanding that it started out as a score for the new movie lends it even more resonance.

As already mentioned there's a definite Carpenter vibe-some of it could of been lifted from the Assault On Precinct 13 score and there's a few nods to Brad Fiedel's Terminator stuff.

Great stuff!

Think I'd probably try to design androids that didn't require spacesuits.

There's a joking comment about this in the movie apparently.

More inside skinny on merchandise, the IDW deal and that movie would be nice!

Megazine / Re: Colin Smith on American Reaper

Any sense of a negative depiction towards women has been completely lost on me. If anything, in my opinion, American Reaper seeks to critcise society's obsession with youth and it's preoccuption with percieved "beauty" I guess if you want to take a position of self righteous indignation you can find something to support your view if you look hard enough.

I agree that it's not the best strip that Mills and Langley have created, but it has enough interesting ideas and potential for it to warrant continuation in my view.

Of got to say I've found all the Dark Knight Rises trailers pretty underwhelming. That's not to say that I'm not looking forward to seeing it but there are several films I'm far more excited about-Prometheus and Dredd for starters.

Gore won't make the story any smarter, it'll just appeal to a more easily-pleased punter, and of all the great PG films in existence, I'm not sure which ones could have been improved by the addition of graphic gunshot wounds.

Beethoven?

You're thinking of Cujo!

Oh, and anything with Adam Sandler in it!
