Really looking forward to 2000AD's year ahead!

The celebration convention, more merch, hopefully some more movies/TV and video games announcements!

And of course, all the exciting developments in the comic itself!

Looking forward to it Green-bonce!  :)

... I played it safe and just bought 2.* But the £1.99 postage regardless of amount of books isn't that prohibitive.

Hopefully the sale will still be on when I start work.

*Necropolis and Judgement day in case you were interested. I was going to continue from where I left off (and I do hope to eventually get them all) but I figured if it's going to be a while before I get more (it might not be. There's a couple of work prospects coming up, but I wont hold my breath) I might as well get 2 books containing stories I have not read before. (I haven't read Oz, but I didn't find a Chopper story that appealing. Sorry, probably blasphemy here. I will get back to it.)

I understand Necropolis is quite a major epic, which so far I never have gotten round to. And I'll admit I got Judgement Day seeing it's a Dredd Alpha cross-over, which I also haven't read. (I understand Garth Ennis isn't well regarded on here in 2000AD, but I'll give it a shot.)

Judgement Day is ok-the multitude of artists doesn't help.
But Necropolis is solid gold!  :)

One of my New Years resolutions was to get back to reading more novels, and I'd like some recommendations. I'm going through a kinda Quatermass type sci-fi phase at the moment, so does anyone have any good starting points?

Read this a few years back, pretty thought provoking stuff!

Nice and varied amount of strips in the Prog for me, along with some interesting articles!

Worked for me!  :)

I know it's a cheap shot, but it's ironic for a show that sought to satirise the superhero genre, that Doctor Who has almost become a parody of itself!

Maybe I'm just old and nostalgic, but I really miss those early horror themed episodes of the Tom Baker era.

Modern who, is just too safe and cosy for my tastes, I fear.
I still watch it in the hope it'll improve, but I think it needs a drastic shake up to survive.

those kevlar-reinforecd synthi-leather uniforms are no match for nipples from that pic.

Dredd opened a window and let a cold draught in!  :o

It was nominally watchable, but the plot ran out of steam about two thirds in.
I'm still a fan of Capaldi, but some of the whimsy of it all puts me off!

Matt Lucas' character wasn't as irritating as before, which was something!

Not sure of what to make of the new companion either, appears a little too comedic for my tastes!
Not convinced what the series needs is another Bonnie Langford!

Yeah, real shame we never got a Re:Action version of Mean and Rogue!

Really hope 3A step up to the plate and produce them at some point!

Last Of The Giants: The True Story Of Guns N' Roses.

A pretty debauched account, as one might expect, of one of the 80's most controversial rock bands but a compelling reac and a fascinating document of their rise to the top, ultimate self-destruction and rise again.

I *really* want a book of all these anecdotes with collected screenplays.

Oh drokk yeah!

'The Films Of 2000AD That Never where', I buy that book in a heartbeat!

Could fill a hefty volume by the sounds of it too!  :)

Van Damme as Rogue Trooper?

Another lucky escape!  :)

Fascinating stuff Joe!

Thank Christ Statham didn't make the crossover from Shoreline to DNA Films-we certainly dodged a 'hi-Ex' there!  :o
