I`ve read Sim`s  `frankly bonkers` view on women and agree completely - frankly it`s bonkers! So badly reasoned and written that I don`t know why they printed it. However Cerebus was brilliant and I would return to the collections if I had them.  But I don`t. Aaargh! So, my best gn is the Preacher collection. It`s hard to choose from the 2000ad stuff, but I think Goodnight Kiss is the best I have.

Not that it matters but I think Mel would say that Jesus was the original Catholic as well as being a Jew.
I thought the Catholics had un-dammed us protestants recently...I may be wrong about this or it may be that Mel`s particular sect of Catholics doesn`t go for that (which is, ironically, very protestant of them)

yeah, I don`t understand his post either, Dudley. Life`s too short to read it five times!
Thanks for the interesting review. I still want to see the fillum* to see if it`s really anti-semitic but will probably regret doing so.
Did you see the Onion`s take on this? Christ has demanded creative control in the next movie made about his life

cheers,

Floyd

I mean the Lethal Weapon sequels, so yes, I mean starred in not directed.
I loved Braveheart. I enjoyed the Road Warrior and Thunderdome, although they weren`t as brilliant as Mad Max. I thought Payback was fantastic. Ransom was a good flick.
SO I suppose, I should just say Lethal Weapon 2, 3 and 4

I have no particular axe to grind with the movie, although I`d like to see it now to see if it really is anti-semitic. I did think Mark Steyn had a good point about the uproar over the movie; "after giving us a horny Christ, a gay Christ and a Christ floating in the artist`s piss, the liberal intelligentsia have finally found a Christ it would be irresponsible to show the public"
I agree with JimBob - the movie is being reviewed by people who haven`t seen itl. It`s also being given a bit of a pasting because it was made by a notorious short homophobe, right-wing Catholic and maker of terrible action movies.
Me I forgive him anything for Mad Max.

I`m not offended Dudley. For a moment I thought you were going to reproduce a day from the database chat room in play form.

...is the title of a play. I quote from Lloyd Evans` review
"{the writer`s]idea was to bring all the merriment, wit and poetry of an Internet chat room to the stage. The result? All the merriment, with and poetry of an Internat chat room. We watched a group of garralous losers spraying aimless nonsense at each other in a visually bankrupt setting"

did anyone see the play?

before I left Melbourne, I sold all my Phantom comics to a comic shop in Prahran. Because I wanted cash the skinny shop assistant had to ask the boss. The guy who lumbered downstairs was exactly like that Simpons bloke, in looks and manners.

spooky isn`t it?
